Distress is much better than kozilek or thoughtsieze. its much cheaper, and then you don't lose 2 life. i would also suggest more general removal. try Languish or Go for the Throat. try not to have only one of each removal. it helps consistency.

There is so much wrong with every word of your statement I have to assume you're just trolling.

This deck is tier 2 at best, please take the competitive tag off. Jund/Abzan are almost always better, and Obliterator is particularly bad in this meta.

APPLE01DOJ sweet nugs bromigo. I have been brewing a obliterator deck, i havent played in a event but i have tested it a lot. this isnt my main deck this is just deck i have always wanted to play. my version is more aggressive and some of the card selection was specific check my list out dude Devoted to Modern tell me what you think, you got a plus 1 from me.

It's weird... Either people love this deck or hate it...
This is my shit my man. I'd build it differently, but whatever. Me gusta pebbles control.

What would you change? It was well suited for the meta 6 months ago but hasn't been putting up the same results lately. Needs an overhaul. I've even been thinking about going back to Non-Obliterator Rock for a while.

APPLE01DOJ How has the Flayer been working for you? BTW I've acquired 2 of the Goyfs you suggested.

what matchups have been feeling the worst?
to be honest, im pretty sure most of your problems would be solved with paths and lingering souls,
but thats just modern

You're right on that. Path and Souls would be great and that being said Junk is one of my tougher match ups. Nothing else specific is giving me trouble just random loses to decks more often.
Flayer is working great. The deck manipulation is top notch.
I feel like I need to go back up to 24 lands.

That's tight about the Goyfs SerOrion. The 1st one is always the hardest buy. After that obtaining the rest is easy.

APPLE01DOJ Ty, if you'd like to look at the revamped deck and (perhaps let me know what you think about Thought - knot seer) that'd be awesome. Also how is Grim Flayer working for you?
September 5, 2016 10:09 p.m.
I've shifted away from Obliterator and I'm running a BG delirium build currently. Our shells are almost identical (as are most of my BG decks). It's still a work in progress, but I've had some good success so far. The Flayers are basically goyf 5-8. Check it out if you'd like.

DMPv01 I liked/upvoted what I saw, I'm not ready to get rid of the Obliterator yet. However I may include Traversveing the Ulvenwald in place of the Tracker.

Great deck
I do feel the deck has too much removal, considering Liliana of the Veil it has 15 removal cards and even Phyrexian Obliterator is a kind of removal and discard can be considered partly as removal. I would remove 2 Abrupt Decay, Bile Blight and Slaughter Pact and add 4 Grim Flayer for extra threats (I think Delirium will be quite easy in this deck!)

Big fan of this deck. I've been brewing my own over the last few months. Check it out, I'd appreciate any feedback.
Although I haven't used it, I would second the Languish. It'll remove almost everything else but keeps Obliterator in play. I also love Setessan Tactics, lots of versatility and can be used for other purposes (pump, removal, etc.) aside from sweeping a board with Obliterator. Although it goes without saying at this point, check out Fatal Push from Aethor Revolt. Sorry for the essay, but I'm a big fan of Rock decks and Obliterator.
I would be careful with the number of fetches and overall non-basics you're running; Blood Moon can really screw things up. I've been running one Courser of Kruphix for the lifegain, playing lands off the top, and the information. Having Courser next to Bob lets you anticipate how much life you will likely be losing. I've also had some good experience with Tasigur, the Golden Fang. He can drop early, you can refill your GY for goyf and scooze while netting you some recursion. All in all, love the deck.

You misunderstand, all the fetches (and 4x Abrupt Decay) are to add resilence to Blood Moon.
I'll have a look at your deck.

That's a great point. I guess my issue is that I always think about the worst case scenario where I have games against a blood moon and never draw into a single abrupt decay. I may be hedging too far on worst case scenario functionality.

I've been working on an idea for a deck like this. I like it, have you thought of having revenge of the hunted in there? Even if just sideboard? You could toss it on phyrexian obliterator. It would work great against any deck with loads of tokens or loads of creatures in general.
