I like it, Clone effects are very useful, I used to have a Geist EDH deck that was pretty much nothing but Clone effects. It was fun. CLONE & CONTROL :)

Deck looks pretty good man. If you're running a control deck though you might want to add some definitive win cons. I would add Deadeye Navigator plus Great Whale, Palinchron, and other such creatures to generate infinite mana. Once you have that, you can launch of a Blue Sun's Zenith to deck your opponents. Also, I would add a mystical tutor for searching and a Frost Titan for more ETB shenanigans with Venser. Lastly, Rite of Replication is a must in blue decks. There will almost always be a good target on board, even if it isn't your own creature. +1 from me!

Consider Isperia, Supreme Judge... Godhead of Awe is a fun card that goes well in Azorius commander decks.

I'm not really a fan of Mana Leak, and I noticed you don't have a Path to Exile. If it's in your budget, I would suggest making that switch.
August 20, 2016 11:24 a.m.
Might also want to look into Prairie Stream. You're playing enough basics to get away with it.

Hey aekrusty. If you want go full control are Meddling Mage, Academy Rector, Sigarda's Aid, and Loyal Retainers worth a look?

The deck looks great. I think you might want some more card draw. Maybe Brainstorm, Ponder, and Preordain are worth considering.

Sure. As soon as my budget afford. Thanks for the feedback!

Since your primary win condition is Geist of Saint Traft attacking for commander damage, I'd recommend Sovereigns of Lost Alara and Eldrazi Conscription.
It sounds counterintuitive at first glance, but if you declare Geist as an attacker, and it is your only declared attacker, you get the Exalted trigger and Aura tutor from Sovereigns at the same time as Geist's own Angel token trigger. This is because all attackers are declared simultaneously, and the Angel is never declared as an attacker due to ETBing tapped and attacking after the declare attackers step, so you get the best of both benefits.

those are both cards, but I'm also thinking what is your mid game, when Geist costs like 8 more mana, cause he's been killed a lot, there has to be an alternate win con.

What do you think of Gift of Immortality? Let's you attack into anything and prevents sweepers from killing your commander.

I'm a big fan of Gift of Immortality with Geist :) I second that vote.

I've added: Sword of Fire and Ice, Jace's Sanctum, and Frost Titan. Soon I'm gonna add: Umezawa's Jitte from my FTV Lore.

What about something like Archangel of Thune for some bigger beats? It synergizes with geist and Seraph Sanctuary pretty well. Plus you could run Cathars' Crusade to a similiar effect, although if you did that I would change your elspeth to Elspeth, Sun's Champion instead. She's a little less aggro but since your general can duck her boardwipe she could be a better utility. Token swarm might be a good "in case of emergency" backup strategy if you can't keep geist out.

The deck looks great and pretty fair. What makes Geist so scary is swinging by turn 3 though. So if you're looking to make some improvements find room for more mana rocks that can be played on one. Mox Opal, Mox Diamond, Chrome Mox, and Lightning Greaves can help to get your commander down and swinging by turn 3. The mana rocks notably allow you to leave mana up for counterspells which is the most important part. I'd look at cutting Invocation of Saint Traft and Talent of the Telepath for the rocks.

Hi aekrusty thanks for the +1 on Kaalia, the Defiler
I'm not an expert on Geist of Saint Traft by any means, I played him when he was Standard with Delver of Secrets Flip. I have run a Daxos of Meletis which is similar.
I'm not fond of lands that enter tapped, some affordable adds could be Glacial Fortress, Port Town
Expensive ones of course, Hallowed Fountain, Adarkar Wastes
I like Path to Exile since its CMC is so low, and it's exile. Love Steel of the Godhead being in here, it was my second favorite.
Ponder and Brainstorm usually don't hurt and help hit the land drops, or replace themselves later in the game.
It's really expensive but Umezawa's Jitte was always allstar, but it was pricey. Batterskull is a little cheaper. but not as good.
Steelshaper's Gift to pull a sword to the hand. True-Name Nemesis is good too if Geist of Saint Traft gets to expensive.

Hey aekrusty, thanks of the upvote at my Leovold Commander Elves deck. You asked for my review of your deck. It looks great, really good job constructing it. +1
I'm not going to give you a review per say, but instead some suggestions for you to consider. It appears you are going for a more budget deck as evident by the lands your using in the manabase. Because of this my suggestions will be budget, nothing over $10.
Some more low CMC auras that can help Giest:
- Gryff's Boon, Boon can give Giest flying for 1 CMC and when he dies or it dies you can get Boon back from the graveyard.
- Grasp of the Hieromancer, Grasp lets you clear the way of a potential blocker every time Giest attacks.
- Spirit Mantle
- Daybreak Coronet, Coronet is one the best auras to put on Giest and is excellent with Boon. It's price is on the higher side.
You're already using Steel of the Godhead which is great, but I think you need to take better advantage of being able to slap auras on Giest making him an even more scary threat.
Some more creatures who can protect Giest:
More draw and more low CMC dig:
Other than Dig Through Time and Fact or Fiction your deck lacks draw. Sphinx's Revelation is one of the best control draw spells.
Other tutors:
- Mystical Tutor, Being able to tutor for any instant or socery at instant speed is excellent in control decks.
- Fabricate, Another tutor which can put a Sword into your hand.
- Muddle the Mixture, Muddle can tutor and put any card with a 2 CMC into your hand.
Other removal:
Azorius Charm is an excellent control card and great with Giest.
Other card suggestions:
- Winds of Rath, this board wipe can kill all the creatures on the battlefield except Giest if he has an aura attached to him. This could be a very powerful spell for your strategy.
- Faith's Reward, having some board wipe insurance is good and Reward is one of the best with Giest because it can bring him as well as all the auras that were attached to him back into play.
- Pearl Medallion
- Sapphire Medallion
Everytime Giest is killed he costs more to cast him from your Commander Zone. Both Medallions can help with this cost as well as reduce the cost of all the other cards in your deck.
Are you having problems with your current manabase? Using 14x of each Islands and Plains seems like a lot, potentially preventing you from having both colors when you need them. Consider adding more low price Azorius dual lands and budget fetches, Wilds and Expanse:
- Glacial Fortress
- Temple of Enlightenment
- Sejiri Refuge
- Azorius Guildgate
- Prairie Stream
- City of Brass
- Mana Confluence
- Reflecting Pool
- Evolving Wilds
- Terramorphic Expanse
Out of all my suggestions these are the better ones for you to consider:
- Glacial Fortress
- Temple of Enlightenment
- Sejiri Refuge
- Azorius Guildgate
- Prairie Stream
- Evolving Wilds
- Terramorphic Expanse
- Gryff's Boon
- Daybreak Coronet
- Mother of Runes
- Grand Arbiter Augustin IV
- Pearl Medallion
- Sapphire Medallion
- Treasure Cruise
- Brainstorm
- Preordain
- Fabricate
- Azorius Charm
- Winds of Rath
- Faith's Reward
Good luck with your deck. Great job, getting #1 on TappedOut!

In a voltron type build, board wipes like Cataclysm and Divine Reckoning are usually better for you than your opponents.

I'm no EDH expert, but seeing Stoneforge Mystic made me think Batterskull. Might be fun to batter your opponents with a vigilent, lifelinky Geist of Saint Traft. I was going to suggest Sigarda's Aid but it appears you already are considering it.
Also, I know Solemn Simulacrum is an EDH staple for a reason. Lastly, Azorius Signet might be a good mana rock.
That's all I've got for you. Looks fun. Good luck with your deck!

Hmm this looks nice. I can think of a few suggestions. Small things mostly like running Coalition Relic > Darksteel Ingot, Grand Arbiter Augustin IV > Jaces Sanctum, Quietus Spike > Sword of War and Peace. Your instant/ sorcery base is nice but rather situational, id recommend more tutors at least. Youre also missing control staples like Rhystic Study and snapcaster. You might like to add the sibling card to Swords to Plowshares: Path to Exile. Your removal worries me with the amount of aggression that your creature/ permanent base might bring. I would have your only board wipe not be something that works against your voltron intentions. Finally I would maybe drop some money into that land base, but thats up to you. For the most part this looks good though, fun. Maybe just take a look at what other people are doing and if you dont know why they are doing it, just ask! Upvote +1

Unless this is built for one v one I would suggest taking out a little of the bounce and adding in a few board wipes such as Wrath of God and/or Martial Coup because there will be situations that an opponent has gone too wide for you to control. Other ones you can look at are Supreme Verdict, Rout, and March of Souls.
