So I've had a ton of fun testing
Odric, Lunarch Marshall
, and i think this deck is one of the best ways to abuse his abilities.
Odric, Lunarch Marshall
: the man himself, this ability can cause massive blowouts with tramples, and surprising comebacks with abilities like lifelink and vigilance, and there is plenty of every status effect to go around.
Aerial Responder: this is one of odric's best contributors, 3 good status effects on a cheap creature, i play 3, you might wanna play 4, never go with any less, this card is perfect.
Archangel Avacyn
: still one of the best creatures in standard, easy to cast with this deck, easy to abuse, sometimes she blows up a few of your creatures with the flip, but a flipped avacyn is usually going to win you the game or get you damn close.
Beastcaller Savant: mana dork, and haste battery when odric is out. A playset is non-negotiable in this deck.
Bruna, the Fading Light: a good curve topper when you have been getting beaten down in the early game, and a chance of brisela is always nice.
Duskwatch Recruiter
: one of the only creatures that doesn't offer any status effects to boost odric, but the abilities on both sides of the card help keep your hand full and your battlefield growing, use a playset.
Gisela, the Broken Blade: 3 great status effects, and might pop you a brisela if you're lucky.
Gnarlwood Dryad: a very cheap creature that is scary to block, and with odric they make every combat scary for your opponent.
Lone Rider
: valuuuuuuueeee. I play 2 copies, but more than that wouldn't be a bad idea.
Selfless Spirit: helps make the board a little safer from removal, odric has a big target on his back and needs all the protection he can get.
Soul of the Harvest: this is just my janky alternative to verdurous gearhulk, but i've found that this guy does exactly what the deck needs, if he survives long enough for you to untap your mana again, you are in for a sick card advantage.
Thalia's Lancers: find whatever legendary creature best suits you at the time, not an amazing addition, but since there are a few one-ofs, its worth playing at least 1 copy.
Thalia, Heretic Cathar: slows down the opponent's board, and gives another good status effect as well as being good enough to be useful even if you dont have odric up yet.
Blossoming Defence
: use them all, possibly the best green card in standard, it is ALWAYS what you need.
everything else is pretty open, even a lot of the creatures can be moved around. try it as is, or tweak the deck and let me know if you find anything that works better. give it an upvote if you liked it, thanks!
