It's been a while, hasn't it? But hey! New year, new rotation, new set... Makes sense to forge some new decks, right? :3 Heartbroken as I am that I can never use my wuffs/werewuffs again (among other creature types), I'm otherwise pleased at the slew of new, adorable woodland critters and am embracing the variety of abilities and the prospects they bring! :D
In this case, I begin my endeavors with Mice! Valiant's an important factor to consider when synergizing with abilities and Instants especially! I'd do Sorceries with these guys, but small creatures require quick thinking, and Instants put on top of any Mouse with Valiant really puts the pressure on, especially if I use something like Heartfire Hero in combination with Monstrous Rage! Both cards using only one apiece and triggering an Enchantment Token on top of the Mouse who in turn gets a +1/+1 counter the first time any effect of mine targets the little guy! And even if he's destroyed, depending how much power it's got by that time, it'll be devastating to the opponent!
Since there's potential to put a lot of Mice on the battlefield (assuming the opponent isn't spamming destruction everywhere), Raging Battle Mouse can help strengthen the battlements alongside any Mercenaries formed from Form a Posse. Of course Manifold Mouse will help greatly to possibly trigger any Valiant ability or extra effects due to its own as-the-battle-starts effect of making any Mouse have its choice of Double Strike or Trample!
The patriarch Mouse in this deck, Mabel, Heir to Cragflame, already has a decent passive effect of giving all other Mice +1/+1 as long as she remains on the field in addition to her spawning a Legendary Equipment Token that can be equipped to anyone for . But if she's struggling, Seedglaive Mentor with its natural Vigilance can help strengthen the cute rodent army. The only "misfit" of the group, Valley Flamecaller, acts as a secret power boost to all the Mice plus itself despite it being a Lizard! Having Three Blind Mice as two extra three-mana cards adds variety with Tokens before finishing off with a temporary power/toughness boost and Vigilance to all Mice for that one turn!
May need some fine-tuning here and there I believe, but even I gotta pat myself on the back for getting this far! That and my best friend, Wuffenheimer, has helped immensely with a few suggestions to make sure my Mice stay sweet and strong!
