Have you thought about using Inkmoth Nexus to one-shot people with Lashwrithe ? It also allows you to play Smallpox , but not sacrifice a creature (if you don't have any on the board).

I did consider it but went with Tectonic Edge instead to deal with things like Inkmoth Nexus . I'm not opposed to taking out the land destruction for the manland. I keep going back and forth on which one to use.

I'm not sure I understand how Inkmoth Nexus effects Smallpox can u explain that bit a little more?

If you have no creatures on the board, you cast Smallpox . You sacrifice your land and discard a card, with your opponent doing the same. Except, they have to sacrifice a creature. Since you don't have any, you don't, netting you card advantage. Then you activate your Inkmoth Nexus after casting Smallpox .

That's one of the more traditional win conditions of Smallpox -based control decks. They run a bunch of man lands with Crucible of Worlds , giving them all kinds of value out of Smallpox .

That makes sense, I hadn't even considered doing that, but I like it. Inkmoth is here to stay.

I considered running Crucible of the Worlds but thought it was counterproductive with Deathrite Shaman

Deathrite shaman works wonders on fetchlands and also remember, you can target the other players graveyard for land. This deck is sick. +1 for me!

Also, nicely done making a strong MBC without Dark Confidant.

I have a playset of IoK but decided to leave it out mostly to make room for other stuff. I'm quite fond of the 4x Thoughseize, 4x IoK, 4x Surgical Extraction setup. IoK was on the sideboard

Haven't considered Necroplasm. Will look into it.

This deck started out with Korlash in it, but decided to give him the cut in favor of other things. I think I'll sideboard him.

I'm working on my own version of this based off your template. Check out my changes, it adds more control in favor of winning with infect or obliterator.

Decided to playtest this against my deck Swarm and Conquer V 2.0 myself. You gave me one hell of a fight. The early to mid game was mainly controlled by your Smallpox , Liliana of the Veil and Thoughtseize but I was finally able to counter get a hold back onto the field with a few tokens and gradually diminished your life. Awesome deck though, +1 from me.

I am curious as to why you have this labeled as a netdeck though.

well i figured that hub would have the best decks on it and could catch the eye of some good players to give me feedback. however if u look at that hub, i appear to be one of the very few people who actually use it. lol

Netdecking is for those people who see a deck online and copy it and buy it to use as their own. You do like the complete opposite haha.

lol id be honored if someone else buys this deck.

playing this vs ur deck, made me see the need for Maelstrom Pulse . lol which I dropped Lingering Souls for.

What do u think about dropping Inkmoth Nexus for Creeping Tar Pit ? (I could easily splash, Unfair considering all 9 of my fetches can get a Watery Grave.

Inkmoth is important as a secondary win con using infect. I think trying three colors really hinders the effectiveness of the deck but maybe not.

So far Inkmoth has did nothing to help the deck out. In theory it works, but in practice it's yet to be anything more than 1 irrelevant poison counter.

Netdecking means less of someone else copying your deck and more like if you saw a pro tour deck online, copied all the cards directly and just played with it without changing anything, which is certainly not what this deck is. I might suggest taking out netdecking just so people don't get confused. And I agree about taking out Inkmoth Nexus . It doesn't really perform that well when I playtested against you. I'm not sure about going so far as to splash a whole different color though for Creeping Tar Pit . What can blue do for you exactly? And Maelstrom Pulse is a bitch against tokens. Hate it haha.

Ratchet Bomb is even worse against tokens though, in case you're looking for a way to specifically get rid of tokens.

I made another copy of this deck with the blue splash for tarpit. In the few play tests I did vs other decks, it slowed the deck down twice. Plus, even when it's on the board, there is usually other stuff I rather spend the mana on than activating it. 3 unblockable is good, but it doesn't happen early enough. Both of my 4 drop creatures are wincons and even lashwrithe can stand on it's own if need be.

So I'm considering putting the tec edges back in or more basics. What does everyone think?

I really like this deck, makes nice use of Smallpox . I would of had suggested Life from the Loam but it kind of counters your Deathrite Shaman which would be a bit sad.

A Death Cloud could also be fun to have around, tho' it shines more in multiplayer.

The deck looks great!

I should point out that this is kinda The Rock control not really MBC. Either way /shrug.
