Every time I see a deck this expensive I die a little more on the inside.

Once u own the fetches & Lilly u can make so many sweet decks though. I shop around and buy things as I find them for good deals. I used to spend all my money on weed, but now that I legally grow my own Purple Headband<3 it's easier to spend that would-be-girl scout cookies on magic cards.

As expensive as this deck is, it's a placeholder until I own the Bobs & Goyfs to make this deck.

Sorin is a horrendous card in anything but casual.

Hey APPLE01DOJ, Undercity Informer to gel with the Waste Not?

I saw ur other post about Undercity Informer . The card is just not good. In modern Glimpse the Unthinkable Sword of Body and Mind Trepanation Blade there r just so many better options. Y would I use Undercity Informer when I could use a Smallpox instead?

It doesn't work with Waste Not either, they have to discard a card from him to trigger, which is different then putting the top cards of your library into your graveyard. If you're referring to sacrificing zombie tokens even then Altar's Reap would be a better choice.

Lastly, this deck doesn't particularly benefit from cards being in the grave except for being Surgical Extraction targets, certainly not enough to sac one of my few creatures for

Nice deck. Simulated a match against my red deck. Ended up being -4 (Yours) to 3 (mine). You would have won had your deck had better land, so there's my suggestion. Better land. (+1)

Yea CardSlinger, this deck hates RDW. Another reason why Fire & Ice is MB. lol I've been thinking about working in some life gain. I could do additional copies of Sword of Light and Shadow or Vault Skirge /something with lifelink.

As for better lands, what do u suggest?

so how does the deck fare for you, you been to some tourney yet? I too am awaiting Waste not and will build a MBC for it.

Haven't had a chance to play it at a tournament yet. Only casual matches. My meta is all standard :/

Deck does well. RDW can give trouble. As much as I love this deck, deff will be making a proper rock deck once I own the goyfs and bobs. That being said, I bought a proxy playset of Waste Not and have been play testing with that. It really is the missing piece that makes the deck that much better.

How'd you get the Waste Not playset? Badass.

They're proxies. I will be buying the legit set soon as it's out though.

I have been toying around with a deck similar in build. I added a few lingering souls for discarding to smallpox and lilly. Deck is in my profile if you want to see it.

I loooove the idea of waste not! also, are you considering replacing deathrite shaman with bitterblossom due to the recent modern bannings?

@TheMillKid: IMO, with Deathrite Shaman being banned, I think the correct replacement is Noble Hierarch (lets you play Lingering Souls ) or Birds of Paradise . Either one armed with a Sword of Fire and Ice is nothing to sneeze at. Both let you play turn two Liliana of the Veil . I'm partial to Noble Hierarch .

Bitterblossom would just take the slot of Surgical Extraction (move to sideboard), one Maelstrom Pulse , and that might be it (a fourth one would go into the sideboard).

Might depend on APPLE01DOJ's meta, though. I don't know how important Surgical Extraction is for him to have it in the main.

I own 2x Bitterblossom so yea. Once the price settles a little, I'll run the full playset.

Actually, I've been running Damnation MB, in place of the Surgical Extraction s lately. They're more effective game 2 any way.

Noble Hierarch isn't the easiest thing for this deck to cast ...I'm thinking that having to go more green for it and Treetop Village r the only way to go now.

Stupid ban hit mono-black hard.

Could go Zombiepox route. More aggro, less fun. Wouldn't take the hit from DRS loss too hard.
