Thanks Caligula!
Deck is hella fun to pilot. Played against burn not too long ago and won thru swinging then sacrificing creatures with Miren, the Moaning Well . I love the whole black magic feel aspect of this deck. Trickery like Abyssal Persecutor and activating Liliana of the Veil 's -2 on yourself.and winning with cards that cost u life like Bitterblossom and Thoughtseize .

Yeah black is always mean to pilot, But it's always the one color I have trouble brewing up because there's so much shit you can do.
It's really damn fun when you put a solid deck together.

No space, and no real need either. Between Fulminator Mage and Smallpox manlands aren't too troublesome. I used to run Tec edges way way when I first built this deck. Took them out because this deck really doesn't want the colorless most of the time.

I figured that 4 Twilight Mire is probably too many (if they have their own Tectonic Edge s, you could be in trouble), so playing 1 or 2 Edge might be OK.

I dunno. Twilight Mire comes into play untapped and makes Treetop Village run smoothly in a deck also trying to cast Phyrexian Obliterator . Honestly if I had more room I would run a Watery Grave

I have to say this deck is really fun to play against. It's almost never safe for your Treetop Village
to attack against a grixis deck though.

This looks like it's fantastic, I might just have to steal it ;3

Hey man I love the deck. My only suggestion would be some sideboard Life from the Loam in case you really start to need your lands. If you would be so kind to check out my deck Loam Poxx I take a rock shell like you and add some land destruction, and give me suggestions.

Cool deck! What does it struggle against? Affinity / Delver?

lol Rock/Jund. This shell isn't a match when it's filled with Bob ScOoze & Goyf...
Afinity isn't too bad. Their low land count makes Pox far more effective & Bitterblossom can hold Inkmoth Nexus at bay.
Delver isn't too bad either, my creatures dodge their removal and their counters aren't the best. IoK/Seize help deal with Monastery Swiftspear. Damnation is also MB.
Hatebears can be a tough match.

I'm curious how you do against 8 rack personally.

I do fairly well. I think it's a 50/50 match up. I think it depends more on their draws than mine. If I get a Treetop Village online it makes the match a lot smoother. Abrupt Decay hits Ensnaring Bridge Liliana of the Veil The Rack and Shrieking Affliction and this deck is used to functioning with very little cards in hand so the issue is when they get 2-3 Racks down at once. I used to have some Surgical Extractions on my SB which helped out quite a bit.

What are you thinking of taking out as you acquire more Tarmogoyfs?
How competitive is this deck? Is it similar in level to the 4x Dark Confidant // 4x Tarmogoyf // 4x Scavenging Ooze // 4x Courser of Kruphix builds?
Nyxathid could be a good sideboard against 8rack if it is prevalent.

well one day this will be the Bob/Goyf/ScOoze//Courser build. :) Until they unban DRS that is...
When I got my first Goyf I took out Abyssal Persecutor originally but after testing decided it was a mistake and moved Sword of Feast and Famine to the SB Instead.
I'll probably SB the IoK's or Damnations and the Spellskite when I get the rest of my Goyfs.

Deck does well. It can be difficult to pilot at times and matches will often come down to the last few points of health because of how suicidal it can be. I've never taken it to a GP (maybe this year!) but I've won more money than I've lost playing money matches at FNM with it.

Illness in the Ranks and Drown in Sorrow can easily beat tokens.
Also no one is running 4x courser anymore. I've seen builds running 1 or 2 courser, finks or skinrender. In this meta I feel comfortable with 2 finks main board and obstinate baloth in the side.

Threw this up on a feature for you because I think this rock deck slays.

Ok, now that that's done with, real nice deck man!

true & I still plan to put 3x more Goyf into this. haha (Just waiting to see if he shows up in MM2).
& thanks!

Tarmogoyf has tons of synergy with this deck. It loves Smallpox as it loves Bitterblossom (One of the few cards that has the Tribal sub type to grow goyf to his full potential)
I could drop the Obliterators & SB Thrun. Drop an IoK or a Sword.
Not too sure about dropping a Pulse. Always happy to draw one and if I have one in hand (that isn't gonna get ripped out) I can safely play 2 Abyssal Persecutor or 2 Bitterblossom s at once.
