Updates Add
Making a few test changes, going to play them out and see how they like them. See last edit for the most recent major changes, as well as justifications for some of these swaps:
~ Plea for Power out for Island - I found Plea for Power never reaching its full potential, as card draw isn't an issue with the deck right now, but I am noticing that with the new mulligan rules I'm generally being forced to keep land light hands. Additionally, in goldfishing, I'm having trouble getting enough Islands to make cards like Extraplanar Lens and Gauntlet of Power worthwhile.
~ Volcanic Offering out for Mystic Retrieval - Nothing complicated here, Volcanic Offering is quite good but I just don't like it that much. Mystic Retrieval is phenomenal (ever cast the same Turnabout 3 times?).
~ Spin into Myth out for High Tide - this was a tough one: High Tide is one of my favorite cards ever and I was agonizing over opening up a slot for it again (I had cut it before but found myself missing it). Ultimately I was between Spin into Myth and Capsize for the cut, and ultimately settled with keeping in Capsize as it synergizes better with High Tide.
~ Misdirection out for Blatant Thievery - Misdirection has been a dead card in my hand the past three games of EDH I've played, it just doesn't do enough in my meta. However, Blatant Thievery would do a hell of a lot in my meta, so this was an easy swap. Also considered Aethersnatch, but thought it was a little more limited than Blatant Thievery.
~ Great Furance out for Island - so Vandalblast is a thing. I'm never lacking in red sources (especially since upping my fetch land count in the last edit). Initially I started running the artifact lands with the idea that if I'm mana screwed I can always Fabricate
for one, but I doubt this would ever happen to that degree and the risk of getting blown out is too high.
