maybe i completely missed it in the description, but Fireball looks like a good inclusion.

TrueLycan Thanks for the comment! I went over my reasoning for the lack of X-spells in the primer, but for Fireball specifically, here's why I don't include it: It's horrible.
let's say I have 4 opponents. I deal 6 damage to each of them in my first main phase, so in my second main phase I get 24 mana. That's a pretty good haul. So now I go to cast Fireball, hoping to kill all of my opponents with this one massive blaze. One is used for the red cost of fireball, I target an opponent, then spend to target my other three opponents. So X=20, and that gets divided evenly by 4, which is 5, so in the end I just spend 24 mana to deal 5 damage to each opponent. Compare to Flame Rift and Inferno, and fireball is laughably bad. Sure I could kill just one opponent, but that's not the point or the goal of the deck.
Hope that clears it up!
Low-key_loki Thanks for the upvote :)

yea ok, that's indeed loud and clear. Thank you very much for clearing that up! Looks like my own Neheb deck's got a free space as well now, so also thanks for that!

This is the type of deck that makes me always carry around a Rule of Law just in case

TrueLycan you're very welcome! I'll check your Neheb deck out!
Chiberia I'll take that as a compliment :)
You bring up a good point. While writing my primer and determining weakness, realized I'm gonna have a hard time with certain hate enchantments. A well placed Leyline of Sanctity, Nevermore, or Rule of Law can really mess me up. Thus the recent inclusion of Unstable Obelisk and the eventual inclusion of Chaos Warp. Wish red had better ways of dealing with stuff.
February 25, 2018 12:13 p.m.
It was a subtle clue to that, but yes mono colored decks all have there weaknesses.
Except white.
February 25, 2018 12:56 p.m.
Also, you forgot about Vandalblast when dealing with artifacts, its supremely good in red.
February 25, 2018 12:57 p.m. Edited.

Chiberia can't tell if you're serious about mono white not having weaknesses haha
I did not forget about Vandalblast :)
Great card, for sure, but not really needed for my meta. I'd probably run Fiery Confluence before it.
February 25, 2018 1:12 p.m.
Oh if you don't need it in your meta then you're lucky! My friends love there artifacts.
I was setting myself up for a white supremacy joke and decided against it and went to delete it, I missed a line lol

Hi! I love Neheb. He's a great and fun commander I really like your build as well! +1

The first thing I looked for was Heartless Hidetsugu. I'm glad he's there. :)
Rolling Earthquake is good too but a little expensive to purchase. It would be a good alternate to Comet Storm, except it hits you as well. But you're Red! Red doesn't care about life totals!
If you're running into Comet Storm being countered and such I'd recommend Anarchist and/or Goblin Dark-Dwellers.
I notice you have Reforge the Soul. Do you not like Wheel of Fortune and/or Wheel of Fate? Fateful Showdown and Browbeat are interesting too.
Thanks for the upvote on Purphoros!

Casey4321 Thanks for the upvote! Neheb is a favorite for sure!
RedPlaneswalker thanks for the upvote and suggestions!
Rolling Earthquake is cool but too expensive. I went over my dislike of most X-spells in the Primer.
Counters aren't an issue in my meta somehow haha! But I'll keep the recursion in mind.
Wheel of Fortune is kinda expensive. Reforge is just the budget replacement. I tested Wheel of Fate. It always, and I mean always, screwed me over somehow. There's no good way to play it. 4 turns is an eternity in multiplayer EDH. By the time it fired off, one of the following things happened: I already won; I already lost; I already drew some other card draw(I have 14); it made me discard win-conditions; it helped my opponents more than me(Kaalia, Mizzix); or it actually killed me(Nekusar, Niv-Mizzet decks).
Thanks again. Hope you like Neheb in Purphoros :)

Etali, Primal Storm works great in decks like this. I highly recommend it. I would also recommend cards for more combat steps, so Hellkite Charger works great. Another card that allows for more combat damage is Relentless Assault. Hope this helps in some way!

Pabs4444 Thanks for the comment! I've considered all three of those! Really like Etali but I see her as more "for fun/value" than I want for this deck :)
Garmads you may! Thanks for the comment! Angrath's Marauders costs to much, coming down to late to be of much impart, and, as a creature, is weak to removal/boardwipes, including my own.

Suns_Champion while I agree that is is mana heavy, I'm also imagining playing it with mana from damage in our second main phase, then needing significantly less mana to burn an opponent or multiple opponents out ;). I am only starting to look at making a somewhat budget Neheb deck to throw my spare eldrazi titans into for kicks though, what alterations or change to strategy would you suggest for the more casual environment among my friends?

Garmads I gotcha I gotcha. It'd definitely be a worthy include in a more casual deck.
That's a good question.
I'd start with taking out Chandra, Torch of Defiance, Aggravated Assault, Price of Glory, and the Swords of X and Y. That lowers the power level and price tag of the deck significantly, and takes out the infinite combo. You could probably go less heavy into equipment in general and more heavy into spells, adding stuff like Young Pyromancer. Avoiding the extra combat stuff would make in more casual in general as well. Run more X-Spells, that's the best way to go with Neheb I'd say. Hope this helps!

how about Helm of the Host and Jaya Ballard ?
Both of those have done wonders for my own Neheb build, With Helm giving an even more absurd amount of mana because suddently we have 2 neheb triggers. And it's high cast/equip cost really isn't a problem with the amount of mana Neheb makes.
Jaya replaced Chandra, Flamecaller in my deck. Since Flamecaller was primeraly used for its 0 ability. Jaya just seemed to do that job, but stricktly better, and the ramp for spells was nice as well.

TrueLycan Thanks for the comment! Not a fan of the Helm but I'll take a serious look at Jaya. She does seem like a much better Chandra, Flamecaller... has the same draw power and some late game recursion which I need. Thanks!

If building all red, I like to throw in Magus of the Moon

Garmads I wouldn't take out Aggravated Assault because it's way too fun for that. Kaboom! is definitely a must have because it's so much fun and it adds the randomness that red can give you. Dualcaster Mage, Fire Servant, Tunneling Geopede, Sunbird's Invocation, Stolen Strategy, Thieves' Auction and Bonus Round are also really fun.
for a more budget and casual version. maybe take a look at my deck: Neheb, The Fireflinger (MRB-Ramp)

(moved my comment here instead of putting it on the group page, just fyi)
I've not had direct experience with the fury, but I imagine it will function in the same way any Winds of Change effect would in EDH. The fact that it has the other option to deal straight damage is useful to a point, but at five mana the best place for it I imagine would be in a Nekusar style build that can take advantage of either choice. Neheb doesn't get enough value unless you build to accommodate it.
Jaya Ballard on the other hand is a great all around type of card, as long as you focus on instants and sorceries. Your build doesn't even have 20 between the two types of spells (at this time), so if you ran Jaya it would be exclusively for her draw effect most of the time. That immediately puts her in a bad place of either being a dead card most of the time, or warping your deck into something you've not designed it to be. Even her three red cost only helps out your Nykthos land so that isn't much of a plus.
All in all I wouldn't recommend either one for your Neheb build, but if you plan on making a mainly red spell-slinger deck then either spell you ask about should be useful.

Thank you all for the comments and upvotes!
magicsheep Thank you so much for your kind words! Appreciate it!
scotchtapedsleeves Shifting Shadow seems too random for me, and Anger is too slow. I have Generator Servant and Obsidian Battle-Axe to provide haste. Thanks for taking a look!
S1ayerMonkey Thanks for the comment! Yeah there aren't enough mono-red commander players out there :)
I've considered the Helm and Swallower but wan't hot on them. Price of progress I recently took out because it didn't preform well. Lava Axe and Artillerize are sub par damage spells and won't fit here. i went over the absence of X-spells in my primer :)
Thanks again!
Grahamatica Thanks for the comment and concern! As cdkime said, protection prevents dmage as well, saving my creatures form my damage spells and such. Thanks for the 150th upvote!
cdkime Thank you for the rules clarification! :)
Again, many thanks to all who comment and upvote! Keep 'em coming!
