Stoke the Flames and Fated Conflagration would work well stoke main board over lightning strike and fated to sub for it [against abzan with all its 5 toughness guys as more board manipulation for your own favor] but i would put that over Flame wake personally but that's just my thoughts... but take a look at mine if you want to see my tenancies lol

Yeah I agree I overlooked how important scry is even if I need fast mana, and I will give Stoke and fated a go. Thanks for the feedback!

I've started mine with a draft deck back in december and I've been more drawn to it ever since.

Shaman of the Great Hunt would be a pretty solid card

I like him but not sure what to replace.

Ranger's Guile Isn't quite necessary, possibly a sideboard card depending on the matchup? Also Archetype of Aggression isn't ideal either.

Stormbreath Dragon is also a bomb in constructed.

XxHazard001xX says... #12

I am considering stormbreath, I think he may be a powerful addition, I will dig around for replacements for Guile and Archetype

Sided 3 Arbor Colossus against any deck running Stormbreath Dragon

Atarka, World Render red/green monster, plus helps boost stormbreath, and itself. As well as Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker

You might want to throw in Whisperer of the Wilds to up the mana curve a little faster but this is a pretty solid deck.

What about cutting one Courser and one Lightning Strike for two Boon Satyrs? He can work as aggressive early drop, a combat trick and lets you dance around control deck EOT shenanigans.

darleen says... #19

Since you have the creatures to set off its Ferocious ability, how about Whisperer of the Wilds instead of Elvish Mystic?

February 23, 2015 1:10 p.m.

XxHazard001xX says... #20

I personally belive that on the play elvish mystic will benefit me further then turn 2 whisperer, I could experiment with boom satyr but I would not cut coursers they are bombs, thank you for the suggestions everyone, I appreciate it

XxHazard001xX says... #21

I really think I should run Atarka, World Render and maybe even Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker but I do not know what to cut for them.

Atarka, World Render is a very powerful cards especially in Gruul decks but you have to look at your meta to see if he has any staying power. I know in mine he would be stoked the moment it hits the mat because my meta is heavy on burn removal. Sarkhan is a great choice because he can either be a face smasher or removal. My only advice is to lose the Elvish Mystics, T1 ramp is nice but if your opponent has a pulse then they will remove it by T2 because they know whats coming later if they dont. With Sylvan Caryatid and Courser of Kruphix you will have all the ramp you need. I suggest replacing the mana dorks with Ashcloud Phoenix for a persistent flyer or Polis Crusher for enchantment removal because Chained to the Rocks is still a thing.

All Hail Xenagoat!! is my deck if you want to check it out for some ideas

February 23, 2015 4:47 p.m.

XxHazard001xX says... #24

albino_ninja I am debating on Atarka, I will take this deck to the next FNM (It is now 100% complete) and depending on how it does, I will decide if I want it. I do not know how I feel about Polis Crusher because I have 4x Destructive Revelry sided which has been working quite well for me against enchantments, if anything, Reclamation Sage might be better for the task.

I wouldn't worry about Atarka being removed, green/red has plenty of standard protection and pump spells like: Ranger's Guile and Titan's Strength. It should be able to stay alive with no problem, using your Red/Green mana ramps.
