Also, you don't play green with Dryad Arbor, just other fetches to get it :)

I don't need an overabundance of coloured mana. I can actually get by quite fine with 6 colourless mana, but I got rid of the Ghost Quarters because I gave up on my Tron match-up. In order to determine how much coloured vs colourless mana a deck can have, you must look at the coloured mana vs total mana ratio in each cmc bar. The more 1 drops you have the more colour you need, and it also depends on which colours too. I have no blue 1 cmc spells and no spells that require double U in its casting cost. I also get rid of a fair amount of either black or blue in terms of siding, also making my mana a lot easier.

Femme_Fattle When I was talking about being tapped out, I just meant in casual play, like one persom using a Modern deck against a Standard Deck, etc. Next Time I might try to THINK before posting something though, or at least, specify.

Ew fattle.

Anyways, if anyone tries to tap your lands on your upkeep, you can respond by tapping them yourself and floating the mana to pay for Slaughter Pact. The only way for them to prevent you from paying Slaughter Pact's cost is with something that returns lands to your hand, destroying lands, or a very occasional effect of tapping your lands on their turn, sorcery speed.

Have you thought of Iona, Shield of Emeria in the sideboard? I think that she is strong and if they get rid of big mamma Emrakul, the Aeons Torn you kinda have no win con.

I did MasterMan123, but Iona wouldn't help as much versus Elderscale Wurm. Against Jund, Affinity or Junk, I go full on token game-plan. Against Zoo, there's too many colours for it to work effectively. Tron doesn't have enough colours. Infect/Bloom Titan are too fast and Scapeshift doesn't care about it. The only decks it is really good against are RDW and Twin, but Elderscale Wurm helps better against RDW because of preventing creatures that are already on the board, and stopping the Twin combo. Iona is probably only better than the Wurm against Twin.

Burn: Name Red and you've just shut down their deck. She can block the remaining creatures.

Merfolk: Name Blue and you win UNLESS they already have a winning board-state. But seen your control elements, you should be fine.

Jund: Name Black and they have no way of getting rid of it, except by you blocking a creature and them bolting the angel to finish her off. But if you're a good player, that shouldn't happen.

UR Delver: Either Blue or Red should be fine here, maybe edging towards Blue to shut down the cantrips.

Grixis Delver/Control: Black shuts down their finishers and removal.

UWx: Difficult choice honestly, either Blue or White shuts down the counterspell/Snappy suite or the majority of their creature base. It will probably depend on the game state.

Twin: Blue

Scapeshift: Green most likely... though they can still bounce with Cryptic Command.

Infect: Green, but if you manage to get her out, you've probably won anyways.

Another thing that you can't forget is that she's a 7/7 flyer, so she puts a serious clock on your opponents. Without forgetting that you run tokens for extra damage.

Elderscale Wurm is really ONLY good against Burn...

Haha stealing my comments now? XD

In all seriousness though, Iona is useless here because Emrakul ends the game on the spot unless your opponent already has a winning position. Except for Tron. You figured that one out yet Femme?

Lol, that was suppose to say "as FAMOUSWATERMELON has already said:" before it...it must have deleted it when I copy pasted haha. And I completely agree that Iona is "useless" here, he's got Emmy and he's golden, but I was trying to prove that she's not dead against most matches and is far superior than Elderscale.

I board out the morph package against Jund/Junk.

It is better against Zoo which has been performing well lately, and better against affinity because I can stop their noninfect damage and destroy their infect man-lands. Tokens is a hard one as they still have Path to Exile, but Iona doesn't stop tokens already on the board so it is a 50/50. Neither of them are good against Infect or Scapeshift (I'd keep Emrakul against them, and tokens).

I did forget about merfolk though. I might use it. And against Twin, you do red so that they can't play Deceiver Exarch in response and then combo off. That and against the Grixis version they have Terminate. Also, Twin only runs 0-2 Cryptic Commands, so I'm not too worried about them bouncing it. Same with Delver because they go grixis, would probably just keep Emrakul, along with control.

Elderscale Wurm is also a 7/7 trample, so that argument is a bit moot.

Dude, I know it's been a while since you updated this deck, but DAMN i felt the need to tell you that this is one of the coolest, if not the coolest, modern deck i've seen to date

+1 from me
