This deck won FNM again for the 2nd time this season. Its ready for PTQ's..going to stop wasting time at FNM. It's week 2 going on 3 in this season and already there are players with over 1000 season points. I realized once your good enough and you have a solid consistant deck that wins 1rst, 2nd or 3rd every week you play it at FNM...then its time to step up to a new level of play. Yea it cost's more and you can come out empty for while maybe a year or so, but it's just like your first FNM I feel. I mean you probably felt like a Guppy in a Pirana tank your first time and now if you are constantly winning FNM a year or so later, you probably feel like your wadeing in a kiddie pool. I expect to feel somewhat like a guppy again but I face net decks all the time and I'm not afraid to play against good player's, I feel its really the only way to be great. I look at it like hey, I could play golf or pool and meet and play with small groups for fun or I can get a pro mentor and practice and enter open's and find and reach my potential. So thats it for me I will spend the rest of the Theros block and the next playing PTQ and Super IQ and Opens try to pick up a Mentor on that level [a consistant top 8 guy] and try to win some. Look for PTQ Standing updates from me in the near future. Merry Christmas T.O

I played FNM last week and took 3rd mainboarding chained to the rocks instead of boros charm and replacing purphoros and hammer with 2x Stormbreath main. I am not sure if it was nessesarily better, really it just meant playing full nude game 1 vs any control deck and depending totally on sideboard draw to win game 2 and then have control going first on game 3. This seems less a good idea since most aggro matches focus on attacking and my deck can win faster almost not attacking at all. So I like this build and am considering going back to how you see it above, but I am thinking of playing Legion's Initiative 2x or changing out Chandra's Phoenix for 3x Rageblood Shaman for a tougher reckoner that won't die to bolt and lose me my devotion race. phoenix is nice but I dont really recur it as often as I would like even with 9 burn and 2 pyromaster...Thoughts?

I've considered doing something similar with my own RDW (Red Dev0 Wins..), but I just don't feel like dropping the cheddar on the Boros Reckoner s :P

Though as a small suggestion.. Since there's absolutely no source of lifegain OR damage prevention here, why not just mainboard Skullcrack and outright get rid of Lightning Strike altogether? As it does the same thing but with a couple added perks, plus it'll free up some room in your sideboard.. ;)

Because strike gets rid of pesky critters and skullcrack only damages players but if you gain some life and dont have board wipe i'm dropping boros charm for skullcrack maybe it just depends. Right now honestly if I were to move some sides main it would be Mizzium Mortars @Metroid_Hybrid

Reckoners are worth the chedder to me. My Boros deck last block won me about 2 boxes of cards 300 cash and 2 mats and this season since Theros release ive won about a box already due to reckoners red dev synergy. I must admit I got 1 at gatecrash pre and traded for my second that night for a phantasmal image. If you look at it they paid for themselves. Boros Reckoner bought me dinner lol!

Ok its a net deck with a bad sideboard. Dose anybody see any weaknesses in this deck or have any comments relevant to this deck. No offense but I didn't post it to look at you deck.

Yes its a net deck, and when the deck placed seconed at the last open, for u to say the sideboard is bad i find to be hillarious. Maybe if u watched the deck be played you would understand it. Not to mention if u play mine vs yours, mine wins 90% of the time. I posted to give u a look at an improved version of your deck so you could get ideas. Theres no need to be rude. Im undeafeated at fnm with this deck and plan on winning an iq on the fourth with it. Just saying you should give it a try. Im slowly posting the sideboard description. Its very specific and actually great.

Your so funny, my deck is almost straight from the grand prix deck list that placed second. my deck out preforms pretty much every deck, watch ari lax play and make mono black scoop on turn three, and wreck mono blue, and stomp u/w control, like u said, u place third as second and so on at fnm, which is decks that aren't even premium half the time, I haven't lost at fnm since i built this deck. ive been first 3 weeks in a row, and I dont need burn spells like boros charm to win against you. I don't need to attck with my deck to win either, I can nykthos creatures faster than you can boros charm me to win, my finactic can deal 20 plus damage by turn 4.

oh..ok lets see your dci# nothing can harm you from giving that, mine is 2102-407-835 without your password nothing but recent FNM and tournement activity will be visible. I think your full of crap and I dont care if the deck squeaked one out at a GP, that dosnt make your deck a world beating deck nor you a champion. Also people here dont care about your Net Deck, if they want to see it they will go to SCG and look at it. Nobody is gonna plus you 1 for posting a net deck and claiming your God. Your funny kid.

This deck has everything a Red player needs to win except Fireblast and Browbeat or Lightning Bolt ok well its standard so we don't need that stuff. Really though I am playing this deck in a TCG 5K diamond and I believe it has potential to win.

Rakdos Cackler is the popular choice, but I've seen people start with Foundry Street Denizen too and then throw out a bunch of little dudes, however... You're running a devotion deck, not just an RDW, but it is missing a turn one play... Volcanic Geyser can also make use of that mana from devotion.

January 8, 2014 2:11 a.m.

I was running cackler and also legion loyalist to get around elspeth tokens and opposing elementals but ive noticed most of the undefeated R/W Devotion decks just dropped their turn 1s for more 2s in the RR dept. Really I agree with them cause after playing it two months I can honestly say the 1 devotion never really makes a difference, i'm either 1 short or have an extra. I understand how the extra 2 you could get on turn 2 or even after may make an impact but if the deck functions even half right it ends in a turn 5 overkill or sometimes a turn 4 kill. I may keep the loyalist in the main or side for a big tourney because of 99 elspeths running around but I ended up trimming out my 1 drops this time last year out of my Boros deck and add more lightning mauler and nearheath pilgrim and it performed better.

I gotta say I'm proud my list is 1rst and 2nd place at Columbus OH Open tonight. It echoes my own success and I created under co-test pilot Ryan LeDuke this deck week 1 of theros and saw a Mono Red Dev on the Gp results when I got home from FNM that day. This has been a personal build from day 1 not a copied net deck. I am at least 1 of several originators of this build.

Don't ask why 62 I just like how the land falls at 62 with 3 nykthos. At 60 and 3 nykthos I was drawing double nykthos often, strange I just added a peak erruption side and moved hammer main and added nykthos and the deck ran to a smooth 4-1 FNM win. Its good at 62 I don't know why it's probably spacing vs play style.

January 26, 2014 1:15 a.m.

Don't want to go past 60 just drop loyalist but you will draw 2 nykthos alot. I may run Ember Swallower 2x again soon as ive seen people runing R/G Land destruction more and more even though I side 3x peak eruption.

January 27, 2014 9:19 p.m.

New edit 61 cards runs great.Dropped loyalist for now.

Thank you for all the upvoting, most of all I hope the success of this shell helps you build the deck that takes you to your goal. Anything can be improved upon especially to suit your play style. I am not afraid to take max damage turn for turn until around turn 5 from my opponent, should they survive till then. No deck in the meta can deal damage faster and in the potential amount of this one to turn 4. So I take advantage of that ingnoring most attacks unless there is a gaping wound and have dropped most my burn except 5 crucial ones that allow me the ability to decide my draws and a 1 shot to remove an annoyance and gain back 4 or a finisher. I is my opinion when not using a big boros style with assemble and young pyromancer like the one from 1rst place columbus, its better to use these tactics for devotion and side accordingly.

January 28, 2014 6:11 p.m.

@kviniink I did check it out and left some advice as for how to make it better. Need any tips on how to acheive bigger plays outta the new cards just ask. I'd love to help.

January 28, 2014 6:37 p.m.

Here is an example: can I play Chained to the Rocks using only the 4 cheaper temple of triumph? I cant afford 4x sacred foundy? Solution you are running 4 Boros Reckoner and 2 Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx right? Yes. Ok then when you dont have a R/W land you can tap nykthos for 3 white as long as you have a reckoner. Even when playing R/W with 8-10 white sources this tip can be important and un-stumping. Little things that can be big.

January 28, 2014 6:46 p.m.

My plans to keep this deck in the meta consist of dropping the 3 chandra's pheonix and the helix and moving hammer sideboard in exchange for 4x Rageblood Shaman to minimize the effects of Bile Blight and the new Infest scry card whatever its called. This chage will make Chained to the Rocks more important and possibly a 4 of.

January 28, 2014 7:48 p.m.

I decided not to change the way the deck functions as much by just adding Spear of Heliod and going 3 for 3 on phoenix in exchange for rageblood shaman. I believe this is the better call as spear maybe harder to cast but solves issues with the burning-trees and zealots later and the minotaurs will benifit from both the changes. I thought long and hard about this change for born of the gods and I think this is it.

January 28, 2014 8:08 p.m.

Ok I playtested against Azorous control with 2x Elspeth and 3x Architect and 4x detention sphere and 4x supreme verdict and 4x sphinx revelation and 4x azorous charm and 4x dissolve and my deck won 2-0 and a third game then we side boarded and I lost 3 strait. I noticed that being missing the phoenix with haste flying over to help control those walkers is enough to lose to this deck fully sided. I am not sure what to do because I feel I will be to voulnerable to bile blight and the other one if I return the phoenix. This is a tough match up and mono blue will be a bit tougher without the bird.
