Hey Guys!

So last sunday I was at my lgs and this new guy came in and was talking about this format called Oldschool 93/94. It peeked my interest so I decided to play a couple rounds. The way it works is basically vintage at 1/3 power. You play with all the old old cards like Black Lotus old and the moxes and stuff.

The legal sets are as follows:

Alpha, Beta, Unlimited, Arabian Nights, Legends, Antiquities, The Dark

Along with this format, there are certain banned/restricted cards involved

Ban List:

Bronze Tablet, Contract from Below, Darkpact, Demonic Attorney, Jeweled Bird, Rebirth, Tempest Efreet

the Restriced (Meaning only 1 of allowed) are as follows:

Ancestral Recall, Balance, Black Lotus, Braingeyser, Channel, Chaos Orb, Demonic Tutor, Library of Alexandria, Mana Drain, Mind Twist, Mishra's Workshop, Mox Emerald, Mox Jet, Mox Pearl, Mox Ruby, Mox Sapphire, Recall, Regrowth, Shahrazad, Sol Ring,Strip Mine, Time Vault, Time Walk, Timetwister, Wheel of Fortune

Now I know what you are probably thinking..."well this is just another version of expensive vintage that no one can afford and is 100% broken. Technically yes these cards are expensive but they are not as powerful with the given cards as you may think. For examply, Affinity will never work well since many of its staples are missing. Or maybe if you wanted to play dredge...I dont see any dredge creautures.

This is not supposed to be a competetive environment format. To be honest, you can hardly find decks with this format. It is 98% up to you to build your own deck. No Pro tours, No GP's, Maybe Twitter if a friend played. You get the point. It is a very easy going format and usually everyone is super nice. The guy who I played with proxied up some of the power cards and other expensive cards and we sat down and played for about 2-3 hours.

I guess if you got enough people you could run a mini tournament at your lgs. But I would strongly recommend you do not given how this is not a competetive format.

I will post future decklists as the times go on but for now here is my little ramp deck I made.
