I'm not sure group hate is the right thing to call this deck, but it always seems pretty hateful when I play it.

So my plan with the deck is to get out about 2 Howling Mine effects, then let my opponents build up threats, counter anything that will immediately kill me or is indestructible, then board wipe. repeat a few times, opponents will be drawing extra cards, then keeping only the worse cards their drawing in hand (generally, you play your best cards first to try to win). use spot removal where needed, and eventually getting down a resilient threat (preferably one with indestructible, ulamog, blightsteel, colossus of akros...) and start swinging for the win, being able to board wipe away problem cards opponents play.

some specific cards:

Rhox Faithmender is in here because of synergy with oloro. he's an alright blocker in the early game as well, letting me delay using a board wipe immediately. He'll probably come out when I get something better (Avacyn, Angel of Hope, mercilous eviction)

Gray Merchant of Asphodel doesn't need other devotion to be worth playing here. I end up playing an attrition game a decent amount of the time, and playing him to gain 8 or 10 life is awesome. I'm much less wanting to replace him.

Hushwing Gryff we all know commander is full of effects that say "ETB: do something awesome" and also ways to abuse them. The gryff is my way to stop that from happening. Unfortunately it's a pretty weak card and will end up dying, but just flashing it in against an opponent about to deadeye into infinite mana, or something else that's just going to hit me hard, seems worth having it in here. open to suggestions against it though.

Intrepid Hero he's kind of a pet card of mine, I pulled two of him and really enjoy the effect. he seems good to keep around, basically an Avatar of Woe number two.

Sunblast Angel, Mass Calcify: I'm trying to maximize the amount of board wipes I have, but I haven't gone to buying cards for this deck yet (I just bought amulet of vigor combo, don't have the money to spare at the moment) so these guys are holding places for bigger and better cards to eventually get. I might end up proxying over them with things like Damnation and mercilous eviction, but we'll see.

I could use recommendations for good, resilient threats (I kind of want the myojins from kamigawa, definitely know Avacyn, Angel of Hope, Iona, Shield of Emeria if I ever want something that's very hateful of a card), counterspells with bonuses that I could have (I con't have a copy of Counterspell and am on too much of a budget for Force of Will, Pact of Negation, or Mana Drain), or other good mana rocks (I'm looking at getting the Grim Monolith/Basalt Monolith + Rings of Brighthearth combo. But I doubt I will, running rings just for that seems not good and I have nothing else to use it on in the deck).

thanks
