Oloro Spirits and Life Shenanigans

Commander / EDH

deltonesan

Sideboard

"I feel in them a sense of duty and commitment, yet I can feel nothing else. It is as if their duty is to an empty void." -Razia, Boros archangel

This deck is focused on using bounces and flickers to manufacture blockers while benefiting from enter the battlefield effects. The MVP of bouncing is Whitemane Lion, a common. This deck also benefits from using Oloro as a life gain emblem. If you are casting Oloro, something has gone wrong in the card draw department. This deck loves to gain life. It will gain life, and eventually it will arrive at some weapons that take life.

This deck is made to thrive in a meta that does not encourage infinite combos. In such a meta, this deck is a blast. It delays its inevitable loss until abruptly, it is not your inevitable loss but your enemy's.

Updates Add

Hi guys, here is the most recent iteration of my Oloro deck. This deck is a ton of fun but I've just finished making some pretty big changes such as adding in Karn Liberated among others such as Ancient Tomb.

This deck was tuned for my meta which does not encourage infinite combos as a win condition. It tries to win using pillowfort as well as flickering blockers to simultaneously trigger ETB effects, with some big life gain/loss nukes thrown in as well to finish players off hopefully.

Deck categories:

Pillow fort

Propaganda,Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts,Phyrexian Unlife,Wall of Reverence,Ghostly Prison,Wall of Glare,Righteous Aura,etc.

Flicker/bounce beneficiaries

Reflector Mage,Sun Titan,Karmic Guide,Massacre Wurmfoil,Soulsworn Spirit,Angel of Despair,Topplegeist,etc.

Flicker/bounce enablers

Deadeye Navigator,Whitemane Lion,Nephalia Smuggler,Spectral Shepherd,Rattlechains,etc.

Life gain enablers and payoffs

Oloro, Ageless Ascetic,Evra, Halcyon Witness,Rhox Faithmender,Sphinx's Revelation,Well of Lost Dreams,Debt to the Deathless,Drogskol Reaver, Exsanguinate,Aetherflux Reservoir,Sanguine Bond, etc.

If anyone sees anything in my deck list that sticks out as a poor choice for what the deck is trying to do, or if you have any general advice on how to better accomplish my goals for this deck, please let me know via a comment.

This iteration of the deck has only had very limited play testing and may have inefficiencies or non-synergies that I am unaware of.
