First and foremost work that land base yo. Good number, but you need some more that do not come in to play tapped, or have the chance not to. Pain is good. City of Brass , and stuff like that.

With trying to run some combos like that, might want to get some more tutors to get them out.

Yeah the land base is what I have changed the least from the pre-con, I'm glad you mentioned pain lands, I think I will switch out the 2 guild gates for the appropriate color pain land. And then either Rupture Spire or Transguild Promenade can be switched out for the City of Brass you mentioned.

Good call, that will make a huge difference. Otherwise just keep playing it, and trying out new cards. I have a WUB deck that has gone through alot of card testing. Still not perfect, but pretty decent. Take some ideas from mine if you want, but it is more shut down control.

Good resource for tutors. http://wiki.mtgsalvation.com/article/Tutor Don't sleep on Diabolic Tutor . Fabricate is something you need too.

What are you looking to change still?

Thinking about making more of the creatures natively artifacts to be tutored with Sphinx Summoner and I need to work on the mana base. My problem is that I don't want to spend too much on the mana base but in a 3 color deck every land that produces more than 1 color makes it that much more consistent.

The core duals, and pain lands from ice age or what ever are good budget options. Did you check out the article I put up there? I think that is every tutor, you can check prices on here for the ones you like.

Do you have any Ponder , Preordain , or Brainstorm ? Those are nice to have early, and can help late too.

Yeah I checked out the article and I may end up putting a few more tutors in, I don't really think that any of the 1 mana blue cantrips really fit in this deck so I haven't been putting them in. I realize deck manipulation for U is good but I need to not dilute the deck too much since I'm not really playing it as a pure combo deck it needs to function without the combo pieces and be able to put up a fight instead of just drawing all the cards until I get the pieces and then dieing because someone used Devout Chaplain with the last piece on the stack to ETB.

you can also use Thopter Assembly to go infinite with Time Sieve

It's cool to see someone using the same type of deck as mine. The thopter combo is fun. If you want, take a look at my deck Enter the Thopters for ideas. Though, it's not as heavily modified as yours. +1

some gods might be useful to you, Athreos, God of Passage and Erebos, God of the Dead in particular might be rather useful for you.

Darksteel Ingot is strictly better than Obelisk of Esper

Toxic Deluge is amazing and I highly recommend it. it can wipe a board even if they are industructible, hexproof, can't be sacrificed, take no damage. etc.

Ajani the Steadfast is very useful

Esper Panorama is sooooo terrible good replacements are:

Flood Plain --no black unless you grab a shock land, but unlike panorama you CAN grab a shockland

Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth , all the black mana!

Thank you for the suggestion of Darksteel Ingot the obelisk was in the precon and I just left it in and didn't even think about the fact that I didn't have an ingot in here. Ajani Steadfast only really interacts with creatures and Planeswalkers and I don't have a focus on creatures or any Planeswalkers at all. I have problems with most of the gods so in list form all 6 gods:

  • Heliod, God of the Sun - not attacking, don't care about vigilance. Lets assume the other abilities don't exist because eww.

  • Thassa, God of the Sea - has potential, if I were to attack I would want it to be unblockable. The scry is nice but has minimal value since it can only ever determine one of the 4+ draws for the round.

  • Erebos, God of the Dead - I most the time don't care about my opponents gaining life since I gain more and my win cons don't care about their life when I activate them. If I had to face off against another Oloro I may put it in, but my playgroup keeps generals unique. Greed is passable in this deck, but bad Greed is bad.

  • Ephara, God of the Polis - Underpowered draw engine is underpowered.

  • Phenax, God of Deception - not going to give the reanimator decks more choices thank you.

  • Athreos, God of Passage - Not creature focused enough to waste a spot making my opponents pay life to deny me my creatures (no one would allow me to have my creatures back).

Again the Panorama was in the pre-con and I just hadn't dropped it yet. Now that Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth is $5 I may pick one (or five) up. Although I would argue that Evolving Wilds and Terramorphic Expanse should be cut before the Panorama.

Thanks for your consideration and time to look over my deck. I'm sorry if I seemed a bit aggressive about the gods. When someone suggests I card I have rejected in deck building, I like to lay out the reasons for my choices so that we can discuss if my reasoning is wrong.

Hey so to me I think this is more of a combo deck. (maybe??) Correct me if I am wrong. I suck at analyzing decks. Anyways I think the Ixidron is a little out of place? I didnt have time to examine the deck very well, but you dont have that many creatures in this deck, soooo..... And also maybe replace Ixidron with something like Karlov of the Ghost Council, or Obzedat of the Ghost Council. Also maybe a Palace Siege, good against token decks. Thats all I have!! I am sorta new to MTG so I might be totally off with my suggestions. Happy Magic!!!

Nvm about Palace Siege . I thought it was 'When a creature enters the battlefield deal 2 damage to target opponent.' but it is still good.

Hey bud, thanks for taking the time to look at my deck. Yes, it is a combo-control deck. The entire point of the deck is to keep my opponents from killing me for long enough to stick one of the 9 combos.

If you look at the "custom categories" sorting in the upper left you will see that I have sorted the deck into categories of cards (I don't do this often, as I said on your deck comment thread this is my oldest and favorite deck). Ixidron is categorized under "Wraths" and this may give you some insight into why he is played. I find that 2/2s are not threatening and sometimes turning a creature facedown is better than killing it because commanders can be recast and utility creatures can be reanimated. It at least makes players spend time and resources on killing their own creatures if they want them to have abilities.

Glad you like it. The deck runs well at tables that are not too terribly cut throat but obviously can't hang on the cEDH scene.
