Inkmoth those are both excellent points I hadn't even thought of. My meta is less competitive than yours, I'm sure. I might try both for a bit and see how it goes, but I will more than likely fall back to that train of thought and cut fabled passage. Thanks to both you and Profet93 for your input as always.

Anytime. The only reason I mention both is because the potential synergy of the following.... Avenger of Zendikar, Lotus Cobra, Oracle of Mul Daya, Sylvan Library and Rings of Brighthearth.

Inkmoth is right though, prismatic is better and your meta is less intense than his given your Avg CMC.

Love the deck. We have lots of Elesh Norn in my meta as well as boardwipes. Kamahl LOVES it when my opponents play wipes. So does Jolrael, Empress of Beasts I just have to dump 4-5 mana into his 1st ability and then they are VERY hesitant to cast those kinds of spells. Kamahl is less good against the person who is norns controller or a cyc rift owner but, it is what it is. Very fun cards!

With the addition of Ashaya, Soul of the Wild, Cyclonic Rift shouldn't be as big a problem anymore.

Quite a bit different. And I'm not sure if its gonna make the cut to be honest. I don't need the passive overrun as this deck generates a crap ton of mana to overrun anyways. And I don't turn my own lands into creatures. I'm going to playtest the new version anyways, but it will probably only end up in my budget version (price pending) since i dont have the mana generating abilities in that deck. And I'm for sure making a kamahl and jeska partner deck for flavor because it will be fun.

Isn't Ashaya, Soul of the Wild quite a bit awful when you get Armageddon'ed?

Kamerot says... #8

Potentially. Mass land destruction isn't a real huge part of my meta though, so the benefits greatly outweigh the risk.

Nice changes, dude! :) Lmk how Kodama works out! I tried, but it was win-more in my deck lol.

I don't doubt it. It's a perfect replacement for lurking Predators though, so even if it's win more, its staying in. Lol

I feel that Priest of Titania is not needed yes she is a powerful dork and has huge ramp potential but you only have 9 elves including her in the deck and getting 1 out 100 cards is rough now I know you have some tutors but 6 of the elves are dorks already and I don't think your going to waste a tutor searching up a dork unless your really mana screwed (unlikely from what i seen of this deck but could happen). I feel that replacing her with idk a Elder Gargaroth for it's utility or maybe the new Kamahl, Heart of Krosa for flavor and similar effects to the old one, perhaps a Helix Pinnacle for an alt win con that you can sink the otherwise unused mana and as such wasted mana in? Or just a Worldspine Wurm as I find few green deck that can't improved by adding a Worldspine.

Stardragon: Priest of Titania is symmetrical.

It may not seem like priest is needed in this build, but is easily one of my best mana producers. I may only run 9 elves, but it tapping for 4-5 makes it worth running at only 2 cmc. I also get Mana Reflection or Nyxbloom Ancient out most games, so it actually generates a ton of mana for me. Another note on it that makes it better particularly for my meta is that it generates mana for all Elves in play, not just mine. So more often than you would think, I'm getting extra mana from my opponents. As for your suggestions :

  • Elder Gargaroth - I want to like this card, but the more I see it, the more underwhelming it feels for this deck. I might try playtesting it again one day, but for now it's on the shelf.
  • Kamahl, Heart of Krosa - I love this new card a lot, but it doesn't fit this deck. I don't need a passive overrun when the deck is already designed to pump mana into multiple overruns each turn. I am however making a new deck with this and jeska at the helm.
  • Helix Pinnacle - I ran this years ago and just didnt like it. In my meta, it's an unneeded wincon. My deck can power through anything my friends throw at me currently, so I'm just sticking to old fashioned brute force.
  • Worldspine Wurm - this is another card I ran years ago and ended up dropping it because it wasn't needed. Why spend 11 mana to cast one creature when I can spend 10 of that and give a bunch of creatures +6/+6 and trample? This is however one of my favorite cards in my atla palani deck.

Thank you for taking the time to check out the deck and make some suggestions!

Kamerot opps your right i misread the card i thought it was only for elves that you controlled.

Stardragon: That's usually what makes everyone flip on their initial reaction to the card lol.

I will readily admit, I misread it for most of the first year I had it in the deck. Lol

are you adding the new Kamahl to this?

November 24, 2020 4:29 p.m.

Kamerot says... #18

Unfortunately no. At 8 cmc, he doesn't do enough to warrant a spot in the deck. I dont need a single passive overrun when fist of Krosa let's me dump my mana and do it a bunch of times anyways. And I dont turn my own lands into creatures in this deck, I reserve that specifically against opponents to punish them for board wipes. I am making a partner deck with new kamahl and jeska though, so he will be utilized.

Just saw the update, glad to see the conquerer's flail I suggested found it's win in. Makes me happy I could help! <3 I love how this deck is coming along, especially with commander legends upgrade as well and kamahl's will.

After your suggestion, I had a game where Defense Grid came up short because it was late game. So I greatly appreciate it.

Masticore seems like a great fit with Kamahl ability and all that extra mana.

That is definitely an interesting idea. I'm not sure if it will make the cut though. The upkeep cost is something that turns me off from it, I like to avoid pitching cards in this deck when its possible. And in my build. I'm focused on going on the offensive and destroying lands is almost strictly just a punishment/deterrent for board wipes.

Thanks for the suggestion!

I will definitely keep this in mind though as I've been considering listing a build based more around land destruction through fighting and this would go in that build for sure.

December 22, 2020 1:03 p.m.

I see how in your build/strategy the upkeep cost is a negative but "2G: destroy target land" is spicy, creature control in green is unique and you have the mana to spare.

Kamerot says... #24

I will probably give it a test run at some point soon. I think we even have a copy of this in my playgroup's community binder, so will be sooner than later.
