Love this deck, and have been thinking of making a mono-green EDH deck after I complete my Animar deck. This just looks so much fun and fantastic.

Hey Didgeridooda! Thanks for your input on my Elvish Hydra?! deck! I love this deck man! I can only see a few things I might do differently but that is because of my play style. Chord of Calling is one thing I would put in. I love that card and when you finally decide to put Craterhoof Behemoth in you will be able to end the game turn 4-5 with a chord. Just an idea.

Also if you wanted to run Melira, Sylvok Outcast and Phyrexian Altar/Ashnod's Altar in unison with Woodfall Primus you can go endless mana/land destruction. Some call it un-fun but if you only side it in for competitive I think it could be awesome. It is also because of my obsession with endless combos in EDH...seriously...I have a problem.

Just some thoughts I hope you find something useful and again I really appreciate your feedback. That deck is in uber first stages of development and will probably end up using this commander instead. Also I will link you my tuned EDH deck when I get around to posting it!

XTechNinjaX Weird, looks like I really need to update. Chord is in the deck, but I forgot to put it in here, I totally agree with you there. How is that card only 2-3 bucks right now?

Craterhoof is an auto add as soon as I can get one. I was hoping he would see a reprint in standard to bring him down a bunch. I want him for every deck I have that has green in it.

I used to run Melira, but running her was too inconsistent. I do have some more tutors then I used to, so I might try her again though. I never actually got her working with woodfall, so I should give that another go.

I never thought of running the altars in here. Do you think it would be effective? I only have the ashnod's altar.

In my 2 main decks I do not run infinite combos really. This one has an accidental infinite mana combo, but I did not put it in intentionally. Argothian Elder+Maze of Ith. My budget decks are a different story. Almost all of them seem to be combo. #1 Hamburger Combo is my new one. It is pretty stupid with combos. I am working the maybe board cards in as soon as I get them.

Curse you Didgeridooda! I was supposed to sleep tonight but instead I have just gone card by card through my EDH deck and posted it up for you! Only kidding but seriously I did just post it up! Here you go: Ghave, Guru of Awesome!

Didn't actually realize it was a $500 deck because I tuned and traded for the cards as I went but man this is an amazing deck with some ridiculous combos. If you are curious to know some of the combos let me know but explaining all of them is a job for another day when I have more time to type and my eyelids aren't so heavy!

As for your deck! The altars are there for the sacrifice outlet. With Phyrexian Altar you can float endless green mana to buff your commander. The sacrifice is there on these altars for the combo effect. That way you can bounce Woodfall Primus back into play over and over to keep blowing up lands. This of course only works with Melira, Sylvok Outcast in play to keep the persist effect working. Another thing about Ashnod's Altar that I actually learned by mistake is that if used with an undying OR persist creature such as your Woodfall Primus you can endless combo with Nim Deathmantle. Sac x2 to Ashnod's Altar floating 4 mana to return Woodfall Primus to the battlefield attached to Nim Deathmantle. Rinse repeat until your opponent scoops and/or you have destroyed all non-creature permanents your opponents control!

+1!!

This is definitely going in a different direction than how my Omnath deck is built, but I like it. Question, have you just not updated this in a while or does your meta have its own banned list? Just curious because you have several banned cards in your build. I like Hall of Gemstone, i run it in my sideboard and Temur Sabertooth is a boss btw. Does Bear Umbra trigger as you attack and give you the ability to tap down your lands again before damage? I've always wondered about that and I'm leaning towards yes. When i first started playing EDH i ran Blightsteel Colossus thinking , "imma one shot people", then I got hit with Bribery and he was promptly removed that same day lol.

I recently switched this over to Duel commander(french), the ban lists are slightly different between the 2.

I am a control player, so I built this with my tendencies leaning that way. I had to do something a little different since mono green is limited for what it can do to control. Killing lands was the most effective way, and tutor those ETB guys out.

Took out the sabertooth to add it to the Yisan deck. This one is a little less creature based, but he was still very useful since I use some strong ETBs. I am going to pick another up when I remember.

Yes, bear umbra triggers as you declare attack. It is a must have in Omnath for sure. Yes you can use those lands before blockers, or damage to pump more.

1v1 lessens those issues. Plus by the time an opponent briberys I hopefully can Homeward Path it back, or Brittle Effigy it.

Nice, I may have to run Bear Umbra over Sword of Feast and Famine. The Totem Armor is a pretty nice perk as well. I can see how Blightsteel works in a 1v1 environment and when I used to run Prime Time Homeward Path was usually one of the first things I fetched with him.

Isn't Primeval Titan banned in commander?

unforeseen-complications, It is banned in regular commander. Dual/French commander runs with a little different ban list. My green stuff kept getting banned in EDH, so I switched it over to French where I can still run them.

Do you have any suggestions, or like the deck enough to +1?

Ok I have a question. I keep seeing Omnath, Locus of Mana decks running Garruks but never Nissa. Why is that? Do you not play enough lands or tutor enough lands for ramp? I mean untapping 4 forests every turn sounds great and she can be a great finisher to boot.

Dr.Woodenstein Normally with Garruk in here I just -3 him, and draw to play more. It is usually game by then, or game next turn. Nissa takes a couple of turns to get going. She is good, and if I had her, she might find her way in here, but that is why for now. Price difference as far as I know is significant. May not look like it, but this deck was built on about a $30-$40 budget. I just had a bunch of stuff laying around with the initial build.

Dr.Woodenstein: Take a look at my Omnath deck, comment and +1 if you like :) , but I don't use Nissa either and a lot of the competitive Omnath decks omit her as well. Primal Hunter is pure win because he draws you a ton of cards when he hits the table and that's the only thing you'll ever use him for. You don't want to risk losing him on the field by activating his +1 to poop out a beast. The only time I can see using his +1 is if I have a Soul of New Phyrexia out and Garruk's Packleader and you got control of the table, but if you're at that point, you should have an engine going to where whatever you draw will be played and you got the game, so just draw 30 and end it :)

I agree. I would try Nissa if I had her though. She just does not have the speed, and immediate effect that tells me she is an absolute must.

Nice deck, this is way more powerful than my deck. It is interesting how you went about it.

I have never created a Duel Commander deck but now I want to! I love Omnath as a commander personally. Check out my deck and +1 if you like it! Omnath, Locus of Creature Ramp.

Great deck! +1 from me

Savage Summoning seems like a must have in Omnath decks to avoid loosing your mana if Onath gets killed :)
