I can see Tempt with Vengeance perform well in this deck. Question - as always - is what to cut for it. Finale of Glory should only be of game-winning advantage if paired with Purphoros.

I’m at a loss for a cut to add Tempt with Vengeance but I feel like it does need to be included. I’m up for discussion.

As much as I’d hate to do so, the cut might come from a creature. Potentially Ashaya, Soul of the Wild, though I really don’t want to.

Not to mention it's bonkers with Gaea's Cradle, basically only netting you 1 lost mana if no one makes any of their own

Starsky2814 for those running this deck without dual lands, with maybe snow covered basics to replace them, does it warrant the inclusion of, say Cultivate or Harrow in one of our flex spots? Also the Tempt with Vengeance idea is pretty..tempting. In my personal list I’m considering Green Sun's Zenith and/or Natural Order since the majority of our creatures are green and they can bring out Angry Omnath or Craterhoof right away. I’d like to know your guys’ thoughts!

CoolCat7271, with extra basic lands, I’d run Harrow, Roiling Regrowth and/or Springbloom Druid if you have the space to include them. I wouldn’t force them in otherwise. I personally like Green Sun's Zenith, plus if you were to add Dryad Arbor you can have early ramp with the tutor. If you add the dryad, you can also have the win con of Emiel the Blessed + Dockside Extortionist + Dryad Arbor + Omnath, Locus of Creation. If you feel you need just bombs then go with Natural Order.

Starsky2814 I can see the reason for those three options for basic lands so we can achieve the second landfall trigger without having to use one of our land plays for the turn. As for green sun’s and natural order, I think I’ll try both while the deck is “incomplete” compared to this one and I’ll see which one performs better. Also the combo with dryad arbor is SUPER cool. I find when playtesting, that the Emiel/Dockside combo is hit almost every game!

CoolCat7271 I replaced most of the duals with battlelands (fetchable, conditionally untabbed duals like Irrigated Farmland ), although they only come in allied colors. The rest I replaced with snow-covered basics. Works fine for me so far. (Also I am getting a few duals now, man this is an expensive month...)

Hey guys, I have seen snow lands mention a few times now! I was wondering, What exactly is the purpose for them?

unwucht says... #9

Arzais well, snow lands are of course less versatile than any type of dual lands. But they are fetchable and they have a different name than basic lands, hence they are more likely to trigger Field of the Dead

Scute Swarm is just busted. Might be my favorite card in the deck. Not a bad T6.

Omnath Turn 6 Win

rkjunior, you have the wildest games. Just sheer dominance! When I see your opponents board state compared to yours, it’s laughable.

I might regret this, but Heroic Intervention or Cloudshift or Worldly Tutor out for Tempt with Vengeance?

I cut Cloudshift from mine a while ago and haven't missed it. There's enough blink effects with Ephemerate, Ghostly Flicker and the Unicorn. I wouldn't cut Heroic.

rkjunior, I’m against cutting any sort of protection, but Cloudshift might have to be the cut. I’ll at least see if Tempt with Vengeance is worth it, which I’m sure it is. I might be stressing the cut for nothing.

What do you think of Fall of the Thran ?

Seems like it could have some good synergy. Especially getting the double trigger for 2 turns.

TheManly1, I definitely like Fall of the Thran. Would pair nicely with Heroic Intervention or Boros Charm. The card would have fit in nicely awhile ago, because we had Armageddon and Ravages of War in here, but both got cut recently for Fierce Guardianship and Winds of Abandon. I’m not giving up on the MLD though. I want to tie them back in together at some point, if possible. Nice suggestion, thanks!

rkjunior you’re running Roiling Gruul-Aid man (Omnath, Locus of the Roil) in your deck it seems from that picture! Is he working well in terms of mid-to-late game draw power for you? Also have you had any games where you’ve found that you could really use an Eternal Witness, Regrowth,Seasons Past, etc.?

Depending on how well card draw has been holding up, rkjunior might be able to provide data here, I would suggest cutting the Finale of Revelation for Tempt with Vengeance

CoolCat7271, personally I felt like Omnath, Locus of the Roil was very lackluster in the deck as draw. Fantastic as a commander itself, but getting it’s draw engine online seemed so late in the game with the way this deck is built around. To get to eight lands quickly, you need a lot more land ramp then this deck provides. Then you have to hope that it sticks to the board long enough to take advantage of the draw and we aren’t built around protecting that piece. Reasons why I made the cut.

Metachemist, about 12-13 draw cards have been the sweet spot for the deck. Anything more than that can be targeted for cuts. If Finale of Revelation isn’t hitting the 10 or more, consistently, I’d say it’s one for the chopping block then. I’m swapping out Rhystic Study for Consecrated Sphinx and see how that pans out. We’ll have to wait for rkjunior to answer some of these questions, since, like you said, can provide us with the data.

Finale is busted and will usually close out games. That last screenshot was enabled by a Finale for 20, which then allowed me to untap Cradle and go ham. I'm leaving it.

I'm mainly running Roil for the flavor but he does provide an extra card draw engine late game. He could be busted with Tempt with Vengeance, though.

I'm considering dropping Noble Hierarch for Carpet of Flowers. Seems real good in a 4 person pod.

From my experience, the minute Consecrated Sphinx hits the battlefield you become a target and/or it gets Path'd immediately.

Starsky2814 says... #22

rkjunior, I agree with the add of Carpet of Flowers, I too want to make room at some point for it. I don’t know how often you find yourself in need of tutoring for a specific land, but I’d say the cut for you should be Sylvan Scrying. I’d also like to add that Bloom Tender has been a phenomenal add for me. Was well worth the cut of Smokebraider.

As for Consecrated Sphinx, I’m going to juggle between that and Shamanic Revelation for now and see which appears to be the better add. Rhystic Study hasn’t been very reliable draw and I feel it needs replaced with something more reliable. Could also be the time to add Scroll Rack in its stead.

What are thoughts on Chromatic Orrery? That should be so easy to get out and have five mana of any color to use after casting. Not necessarily looking to add, but the card has piqued my interest for some time. Oh and we can draw 4 for off Omnath, Locus of Creation. Seems pretty good...

Hey everyone! Just thought I’d add that the Commander Legends leak contains an uncommon reprint of Three Visits! Not sure if we want a second iteration of Nature's Lore..could be nice though!
