Splendid Reclamation seems to be an obvious choice to be considered for this list. Your thoughts on it, Starsky2814 ?

unwucht, yeah Splendid Reclamation is a good option to add, especially after a Scapeshift, but I decided to stick with Life from the Loam over that when I chose between the two when I decided to not have both included. If I ever decide to switch back to a land destruction sub theme, I would definitely have Splendid Reclamation added. How has your brew been holding up? Any new adjustments? Any good stories to share? I’ve been experimenting with Kodama of the East Tree and a token generator with a bounce land as a combo, also, Kodama pairs well with Meloku the Clouded Mirror especially with a haste enabler onboard. It’s been fun.

I had been focusing recently on a Samt brew. https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/04-10-21-samut/ Fear-inducing creatures and quick enablers to bring em on early. The list is cards-wise a similar power level as my Omnath but has more instant speed reactions. I am considering to do an overhaul of Omnath with the cards acquired for Samut and already implemented the freshly acquired Cradle into it. But basically I have not a really "hot candidate" to switch in. I run a relatively broad variety of decks, so brewing new additional lists (recently Chatterfang and Prosper and probably a Sythis and an Edgar Markov, soon) are currently priorized. vOv

Any thoughts on including Cultivator Colossus? I was thinking of pairing it with Abundance to rip all my lands out and into play off the trigger and then stack my library however I’d like within the process. Worth it or not?

Well, you know my stance on big spashy Timmy cards. As stated before, we are no longer discussing the most effective combos but a series of switch-in/switch-out combos for the funsies. Cultivator Colossus probably should be paired with Ashaya, Soul of the Wild for maximum effectivity. (/ stats, not the triggered ability).

Did we ever consider Fastbond for this deck? With huge draw effects the payoffs could be HUGE...

Uhm... seems like no discussion is necessary. Fastbond is only legal in Vintage...

Hi,

I got 2 questions at first sight about the decklist. 1/ Why include clone effects over more landfall shenanigans? 2/ Do you think Moraug, Fury of Akoum should be added to get another combo in? If not combo, I think this works perfectly fine.

So many good things to include that I personally lose overview on the Omnath, LoC builds...

Thanks! Greetings, Emiel

unwucht, I wish I could add Fastbond for sure.

Koeketroef, I personally enjoy cloning different creatures in the deck. Mainly I clone the commander, but I’ve cloned other things depending on the situation. I usually have fun enough shenanigans with the clones. I had Moraug, Fury of Akoum in the deck, I just cut it on my last update for Maelstrom Wanderer because I wanted to test out having a haste enabler on a body. Though there are cheaper options, I like the value I get from the cascade, cascade.

Just wanted to point out. Tooth and Nail + Craterhoof + Avenger of Zendikar isn't an auto win.

People tend to misread Craterhoof. He himself has haste. but he grants creatures +X/+X and Trample. Ultimately you are just making the creatures that can attack this turn really big unless you're running cards like Concordant Crossroads or Fervor to make sure that these creatures can come in and end the game. Temur Ascendancy (which I see is already in the deck) does the same thing. But redundancy is always a good thing to work on for a wincon off of Craterhoof.

I just added Sunder to my own Omnath deck. Just another (fun) card to add to the maybe list! Plus it's an instant, which may or may not make it even better than other land destruction options.

4to16characters, what a coincidence that you brought Sunder up. I was thinking about adding it over the last couple of days, but I instead pulled the trigger on adding Wandering Archaic  Flip over it for now. I have a buddy who loves to abuse extra turn cards, so I figured Wandering Archaic  Flip could be fun interaction with that. I’m still considering Sunder for sure, I just feel like I’d need to include Patron of the Moon again, which isn’t a bad thing.

That's solid interaction and I definitely understand using Wandering Archaic  Flip! Patron of the Moon is beautiful with Sunder.

With Kodama it makes sense to have all the bounce lands you can. You can get infinite landfall triggers by bouncing the land back to your hand and using kodama to plop it down again. It Works great with scute and others.

Might I recommend swapping Oko, Thief of Crowns or Maelstrom Wanderer for Sunder? Sunder does a few things very good in this deck other than slow your opponents down. The first is replenishes your hand for those sweet sweet landfall plays especially since the deck runs only 35 lands. The second is it works exceptionally well with Cultivator Colossus! Additionally works fantastic with Patron of the Moon as 4to16characters had mentioned.

Coincidentally, Arzais, I closed out a game not too long ago where I had Wrenn and Seven out and cast Sunder, just to return every land back to my field.

I also had Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle and Field of the Dead out with Temur Ascendancy.

That play must've had some style! I am intrigued by you mentioning Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle. My build is very similar to the main one listed here, however, it focuses more-so on boucing lands and includes a higher amount of Trade Routes type effects. I have been playing with the idea of including Sunscorched Desert as a back up wincon... What do you guys think of that card? I for one have read it can combo off with Kodama/Sakashima (Tooth and Nail) or a land bounce effect!

If you can make an infinite loop to drop it and tap and then return it that'd be just evil enough to b

Also, if you care for any further ideas or alternativetakes my list is: Omnomnomnomnath - Ink-Treader - Lands Matter.

*evil enough to be the perfect wincon.

Zero regrets on slotting in Sunscorched Desert absolutely beast. Retreat to Coralhelm and Sakura-Tribe Scout really like this card with a Trade Routes or Storm Cauldron also in play!
