MindAblaze, I used to run Nissa, Vastwood Seer Flip in my old Omnath, Locus of Rage build and removed it, because to me it felt slow for what it does. I did go ahead and add Wrenn and Six and removed Dualcaster Mage which eliminates the win con I had in here, but it doesn’t seem like it’s needed anyway. Shout out to rkjunior for that as well.
Jensu08, yeah, I’ve had turns where I have had insane amount of landfalls, especially when Ashaya, Soul of the Wild is out and I’m casting/flickering creatures. So I think Tunneling Geopede gets added at some point. It’ll be one of the next things I’ll probably make room for.

Jensu08, the more I think about it. Wouldn’t you say Purphoros, God of the Forge would be a better fit than Tunneling Geopede? With the amount of creatures and tokens, especially that crazy Scute Swarm going off, seems like more devastating damage being dealt.

I still feel 34 lands is very light. I'm running 37 in my list since there are no mana rocks and it feels right.

rkjunior, I made a few adjustments and I'm going to roll with 35 lands for now and see how that feels. That was the same amount I ran in Omnath, Locus of the Roil and never really had an issue with it.

I personally love the Wasteland/Strip Mine plan with things like Excavator, Crucible and W&6 so I fit them in. Even better with Burgeoning on the field haha.
I like the idea of Purphoros, God of the Forge with all the token shenanigans going on between Scute Swarm and Field of the Dead so that may be my next addition. Waiting to see what underperforms before I make a cut.

I have ran Strip Mine in all of my Omnath decks, but because Omnath, Locus of Creation can’t make use of colorless mana, I wanted to minimize the odds of that being available in early hands.
In my play testing, I felt like it was Omnath, Locus of the Roil who wasn’t making much of an effort in the way this deck is built, so I made that cut for Purphoros, God of the Forge.

One change I'm making is to substitute Nature's Lore for Sylvan Scrying. Being able to tutor any land is way better.

For the most part, Nature's Lore, is for having in the opening hand to get Omnath out on turn 3, but you can’t go wrong with having a land tutor like, Sylvan Scrying, either.
So, I have yet to pull off an awesome turn 4 W, as you have, rkjunior. Though, I’m at least, consistently, getting there on turn 5. Assuming, everything goes unanswered that is. My board presence has been insane in all these testings. I can’t wait to get some actual games in, against my play group.

That's the only downside of Sylvan Scrying is that you don't get the Landfall trigger immediately but being able to search for Oboro, Flagstones, Field, etc is a good utility.

Sacrificing Flagstones of Trokair to Crop Rotation has been great. I'm glad you recommended it.

s5553339, I didn’t want to build around having Food Chain in this deck. It was an idea to do so when I first started the construction, but I already have two decks that use Food Chain and I didn’t feel like it would be fun to build another. Thanks for the suggestion though!

s5553339, yes, Akroma's Memorial is in the deck.

Starsky2814, I still contemplate whether to include Obuun, Mul Daya Ancestor might be a benefit or a lost slot in the 99. It might be another spicy landfall trigger symbiosis. What is your take on Obuun?
September 28, 2020 3:45 a.m.
I am still stunned that you cut Omnath, Locus of the Roil! But Purphoros might be significantly better ofc.

unwucht, I personally like Obuun, Mul Daya Ancestor and I think he and his elemental land can be big threats, but I didn’t include him in my list because he seemed out of place. He would have suited my Omnath, Locus of the Roil deck well, just didn’t fall in the same color identity. Though he could easily be slotted in Omnath, Locus of Creation if I decided to add Doubling Season as well, to benefit his counters and my token production.
Also, cutting Omnath, Locus of the Roil was a tough pill to swallow and I hope to include him back one day, but Purphoros, God of the Forge seemed too good to not include in this build and poor Locus of the Roil wasn’t quite taking the cake when he was out.

I see. Btw, this is one of the first four coloured EDH decks I see without a Command Tower in it ;)
September 28, 2020 9:56 a.m.
Command Tower should definitely be added along with Reflecting Pool IMO haha

Normally I would add Command Tower, but I didn’t feel it was necessary when the goal is to abuse fetch lands and needing plenty of lands that can be fetched with them. What little room left was for Gaea's Cradle and bounce lands to abuse landfall triggers.
September 28, 2020 4:44 p.m.
I see. Cradle is for sure more powerful than a Command Tower.
One additional note: Ancient Greenwarden is a bit tricky with bounce lands, though, as it makes you bounce two lands instead. Might get you locked sometimes.

Great call out! Yeah, that is a little tricky. I need to be careful of that. At least Oboro, Palace in the Clouds should still be fine to bounce with Ancient Greenwarden in play.

Something that I just thought about and I’m going to add immeadiatly... you ever thought about Helm of the Host for omnath?
September 29, 2020 12:58 a.m.
Starsky2814 says... #25
Spartansean765, I used to run Helm of the Host in my old Omnath, Locus of Rage deck and that did get ridiculous left unanswered. I can see it being fun to have equipped on Omnath, Locus of Creation while an extra combat guy like Moraug, Fury of Akoum in play. I think I might replace Mina and Denn, Wildborn for it. Thanks for the suggestion!
What does everyone else think about the add/cut?
Jensu08 says... #1
Starsky2814 and rkjunior Since the deck is so heavily landfall you should definitely consider running Tunneling Geopede I've pinged at least 15 damage in a turn with that cards landfall triggers.
