Playtested the budget version of this a bit more on MTGO. Dimensional Infiltrator for Spellskite, no Mutavaults, Cryptic Command *list*s or clique. Also no sideboard tech. Ran a few other counterspells including 4 x Mana Leak and 2 x Shorecrasher Elemental. Beat a boros burn deck running Thalia, Guardian of Thraben and Boros Reckoner 2:1, went down 2:1 to merfolk having won game one. Lost 2:0 (easily) to 8 rack. Game 1 against merfolk I countered their Kira, Great Glass-Spinner to flip TITI, returning Master of Wavesfoil and a bunch of tokens to hand. G2 and 3 I struggled against the weight of bodies from 2 x early Aether Vials. Versus 8 rack, without a sideboard, there's 2 much creature/tempo counterspells, although I did better in G2 when I played first and had mana up.

Tweaked the mono blue list with 2 x Cryptic Command *list*, 1 x Vendilion Clique. Will test on MTGO soon, but if anybody gets a chance to test on UnTap or Xmage let me know!

Currently testing a few small splashes. Red adds Lightning Bolt for reach and Wandering Fumarole as a manland. White adds Path to Exile, Celestial Colonnade and potential sideboard tech. Black adds targeted discard and Creeping Tar Pit:

Nice deck, +1. How are your matchups against grindy decks like Junk and Jund Midrange?

Also, how can something be on the rocks if there's no ice?

Spellsnare could probably be replaced due to it not working well if your opponent is running ramp, mono red burn, or any other deck lacking 2 drops. Swan Song or Syncopate would be better, at least as a sideboard.

Hey Gorgosaurusrex. Thanks. It's a reference to a The Darkness song "Love on the rocks with no ice". Need to do some more testing against junk/jund. Won a few games v.s. them in the more casual levels of MTGO, but need to properly test once the deck's refined. Hey RadeonFuryNano, thanks. Was looking at swansong, especially with TITI's ability to clear tokens.

Hey BrandonJamesCAC. Thanks. Any ideas on what you'd drop? Rune Snag and Spell Snare feel the obvious candidates. Budget aside, I wasn't sure about the 4cmc of Cryptic Command in this build. But it's hard to ignore the value. I'm probably going to update this to the black splash version, so any advice on that much appreciated.

Thanks ocary13. Appreciate it.

Are you splashing black for discard?

Hey BrandonJamesCAC. Yeah, potentially targeted discard, and Creeping Tar Pit as an unblockable man land. Although the fact it comes in tapped may be a problem.

Yeah as far as Cryptic Command, I would only play the 2. You could drop a Mana Leak for at least 1. Personally, I would drop 2.

I think you would be better served to splash white or red.

Path to Exile or

Lightning Bolt are better than

Vapor Snag and Dismember

White also gives you access to 4 drop creatures or Elspeth that can close the game.

The lands are also MUCH CHEAPER for U/W

BrandonJamesCAC. Yeah already own the Polluted Deltas and Thoughtseizes. I did wonder about going UWR for bolt, PTE and Boros Charm. UW sideboard tech may also be better.

Unless you want to run Celestial Colonnade, which you definitely should.
