This is my 1st EDH deck and i'd like a little input on it. Iv'e played MTG for about 10 years, but am just now getting into EDH (Why? I have no idea, i'm an idiot).

Iv'e always loved Grixis colors, control, & dragons. So I thought, why not combine these items to make my 1st EDH deck? The idea is to use early ramp and control to keep a handle on the board, until the big boys can come out. I didn't go too big on the boys though. Most of my big creatures are 5 or 6 drops. Choosing the creatures was the hardest part of building this deck by far. So I asked myself, "What am I looking for in my creatures?" I want creatures that help me ramp, provide an immediate threat, or provide strong utility (Hopefully all of those things!).

I cut several of the more aggressive dragons such as Thundermaw Hellkite & Utvara Hellkite because I want dragons that control the game, not shoot for straight damage. I believe all of my selections fit this criteria, thus improving the focus of my deck. The instant/sorcery cards are composed mostly of removal spells & card draw. I chose versatile spells at the right price. All of my choices are viable throughout the game, which is very important. Insurrection & Rise of the Dark Realms are expensive at 9 mana, but they are cards that can win the game instantly.

The majority my enchantment & artifact selections are for ramp & board politics. In order to get the most out of Nicol Bolas, I have several items that give him haste/shroud & also get him out as fast as possible. Planeswalkers are Planeswalkers & I think they are underutilized. The flexibility they provide is unparalleled. That's why I put a lot of em' in here ;).

I have about 75% of the deck currently & I like it thus far. Feel free to throw me some constructive criticism. Thanks for reading.
