Flow of Ideas will net you more cards in this deck than any other card draw, I think. By all means run multiple draw spells, I'm just saying Flow of Ideas should be in there. :)

I'd recommend running some buyback cards like Capsize to really piss people off. Also, Academy Ruins has a home in any blue deck with artifacts.

I concur with Capsize & Flow of Ideas . Also, might i suggest Arcanis the Omnipotent as your only other creature

1, this deck is only a 1 creature deck, and for 2 flow of ideas i will put in.

Proteus Staff , after you cast a spell getting a drake you can stack your deck how you want it each and every time.

+1 I like this deck and the irony of having only 1 creature in the deck but getting a lot more.
How about Invoke Prejudice and Counterbalance (works badass with card:Sensei's Divining Top)

I get this, but it really seems like monoblack would give you a bad time. What I mean is, discard effects and removal could leave you without board presence.

I know you only want to run one creature, but Polymorph ing into an eldrazi is just to good to pass up.

If you try to work with things like Invoke Prejudice , Counterbalance and card:Sensei's Divining Top wich I recommended before you should be able to go against mono black decks. I would add more Counters to be prepared for things like this. Then you could add Extraplanar Lens for more mana together with Snow-Covered Island s wich count as basics as well and hinder your opponents from getting benefits from your lens.

sadly no. the invoke is mean and i will put in a mana drain for cancel and dont really need the s.c. islands and the lens.

I know that Spelltwine has a pretty steep casting cost however getting a Time Warp from your grave and another nasty from an opponent's grave like Path to Exile and actually CASTING them will net you 3 drakes, an extra turn, and an exiled threat. Pretty good.
Other ramp options are: Thran Dynamo , Gauntlet of Power , Caged Sun , High Tide , Basalt Monolith , Grim Monolith , and more.
Nice deck, rare +1 on the way.

I really can't stress Caged Sun enough. If you haven't considered it, consider it! It will work wonders to pump your drakes and your artifact ramp is plenty to get it out possibly turn 3-4.

my counters should take care but that is a good point. i should get some counters but it is a job for some karnage

You really only have return spells for creatures, so if your general somehow ends up unplayable do to some effect you may want to look into return spells for nonland permanents.
card:Venser's Diffusion, Turbulent Dreams , Rushing River , Repeal , Quicksilver Geyser , Into the Roil , Echoing Truth (Also handy against other token decks), Distorting Wake , Disperse , and best for last Boomerang . Maybe take out Index , Livewire Lash , Mirror Gallery (This is just asking to be abused by your opponents), maybe anything else that doesn't seem to help you win more. Personally I'd take out the mill because eldrazi and "Enter the graveyard from anywhere" effects might screw you over
Maybe only a couple mainboard and a couple to sideboard if you play that way but it should help against those pesky cards that restrict you from playing your general.

I am not much of a blue player, but I love the idea of your deck. Nice job, wish I could help you out more. +1

Deprive would probably be pretty good. Also Arena of the Ancients ? Why do you have Mirror Gallery in there? Just in case you Rite of Replication ?
