ummm i have teneb and i am looking for one.... it is a resurection that can use return turn 1-2 if i get good mana. 20 is expensive and the card shop always runs out of them also.:(

You could try to run more counters that don't require mana open like Pact of Negation and others. There are some that need you to return cards to your hand, or to discard cards for playing them without paying mana. This way you can still react to big threads without having mana open.

I think Talrand wants storm conditions, such as Brain Freeze and card:Mind's Desire.

Diplomatic Immunity or card:Pemmin's Aura to keep Talrand safe from direct removal

thanks Kirtanian for the ideas. the cruel countering is on the start. only iona remains.

What was your thought on Spelltwine ? I had mentioned it but possibly you missed it.

Into the Roil can take care of cards like Nevermore since it hits a nonland permanent. Bounce the threat and plan better to counter it next turn. It also replaces itself with kicker.

spell twine looked good but then it gets exiled. some decks might go gravehate like Rest in Peace and Negate s Spelltwine . there are so many cards that can go in it but 100 is a limit. if it was 200, then i would put them in it. will sideboard them and see if it will work.

This is a pretty sweet concept. I might consider adding more instant speed draw like Think Twice or card:Jace's Ingenuity, so you can psych out your opponent with open mana for counters, and if they don't play a spell or you don't have a counter you can just draw on your opponent's turn and get a drake from Tarland.

Eyes of the Watcher just stumbled upon this. Thought you might like it.

Talrand is a wizard, so I would recommend running Riptide Laboratory to save him from things like Supreme Verdict . I'd also probably run Rewind over Lay Bare . I prefer Control Magic over Corrupted Conscience . Peer Through Depths or Impulse in for Index . Mizzium Skin is almost always outclassed by a hard counter (I notice there's no Hinder in the list). With your low curve Thwart is certainly an option (I like Foil as well but card disadvantage is pretty steep). Archive Trap is cute, but doesn't serve much of a purpose. I'd swap it for Desertion or Cryptic Command . Also, Mystical Tutor should probably end up in the final 100. Just some thoughts!

Lands you might want to consider. Ancient Tomb , Boseiju, Who Shelters All , Cephalid Coliseum , Academy Ruins , Cavern of Souls (prevent countering for your General.), Mystifying Maze , Oboro, Palace in the Clouds , Riptide Laboratory , Reliquary Tower , Tolaria West , Darksteel Citadel , Seat of the Synod .
Also, Fabricate might be a good idea to add. you have 15 artifacts and a way to search them up isn't a bad idea.
Not all of them may fit your taste but a few of them would help for sure.

Since you are running Mirror Gallery , you might as well run Followed Footsteps as well so you have more than just Rite of Replication

How has nobody mentioned Gauntlet of Power ? I know it isn't as selfish as Caged Sun , but it's still redundancy.

Evolving wilds and terramorphic help thin your deck out, I would still definetly play them. They also let you shuffle when you see bad cards from your Divining Top. Could add Foil for another free counter, also Daze . Remand is a fantastic card also. Possibly add card:Nevinyrral's Disk to help deal with artifacts/creatures/enchantments? Oblivion Stone will do the same thing. Recursive effects are key in edh, especially here. Fervent Denial nets you a 2 for 1 and two drakes. Overwhelming Intellect is a simply amazing card advantage machine. Also card:Blue Sun's Zenith should keep the gas going. I would be worried if someone shuffled Talrand into your deck, so maybe find a way to search him back?+1

I apologize, I hadn't noticed card:Blue Sun's Zenith was already there!

thanks for the suggestions. trying to think of board wipes besides the 2 that can be destroyed with ease.

I would put in Phyrexian Metamorph but it is a creature

Favorable Winds will help those drakes out.
Also, Flow of Ideas can cause you to discard in the late game, may want to throw in a Reliquary Tower to prevent that.
Darksteel Ingot also seems semi-pointless for a mono-colored deck.

Graveborn is the only deck I have seen that can pull out Iona, Shield of Emeria faster than a standard deck. I don't know what you can do stop it, other than hope you have a counter spell.
I play mono green, so I know what you mean by it. But usually our groups play to do wild combos or ideas, like this one. I would not imagine your friends calling blue with Iona, Shield of Emeria unless you really pissed them off. You have to have major board threat to keep having your friends use Iona, Shield of Emeria on you. Its a dick move usually, so not many people would play it I imagine.
