Proteus Staff = Stack the deck however you want when targetting talrand.

I made a deck like this, except the commander is Progenitus and it has 25 Planeswalkers.

You might benefit from having more than one creature. Windreader Sphinx is an amazing bomb when you have a bunch of drake tokens out (refill your whole hand every turn). Stormtide Leviathan is also great since only your flying creatures will be able to attack and it'll turn your non-basic lands into islands.

Also, The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale could be fun. If you want to spend $500 in a card, lol.

Hands of Binding and/or Hidden Strings .
At first they seem like relatively low powered lockdowns, but upon closer inspection note that the Cipher effect "casts" a copy whenever it hits.
So when you play this spell with Talrand, you get a token, as the spell resolves after the token enters the battlefield (pref. on an opponent's turn so you can swing the next turn and get a guaranteed hit) and you can encode it on that new token.
Now every time you hit with that spell, you "cast" a new one and this should trigger Talrand's ability, giving you a free token with every hit on top of the lockdown effect. They're also low on the curve, so go figure.
I'd also suggest Sigil of Sleep .
Otherwise, love the deck!

But if you only have that and one creature, which is your commander isnt that kinda pointless

@smaug1007 - kinda makes it more important. If he only has 1 creature, he needs that creature to stay alive at all costs.

Ran this deck in a 4 way free for all against some friends and it turned into a 3v1 and they couldnt get any spells through well into turn 5, Loved it

After you Spin into Myth , simply Tunnel Vision and win!

the key with the Tunnel Vision combo is that you need something like Skyscribing or Otherworld Atlas or Kami of the Crescent Moon or Howling Mine or whatever to make sure they have NO chance!!

mind I suggest the combo of Hinder /Spell Crumple and Tunnel Vision to mill someone to death?
Also a card I have found to be beyond useful is Telemin Performance as I have top decked game winners before....just saying both are great cards...and the comboes you could do if you just added Venser, Shaper Savant would be INSANE! Inexorable Tide + Omniscience for infinite proliferation....that means....planeswalkers go off the moment they hit the field? and if tamiyo's emblem is there then they just return to your hand too?!
