Deck Origins:

Originally my Naya deck formed out of Mayael the Anima, but the only big creatures I really cared about in that deck were Avacyn, Angel of Hope, Spellbreaker Behemoth, and Giant Adephage + Gruul Ragebeast . I liked who the Anima was, and it was cool to turn the fatties over, but as a deck, she was kinda meh.

Uril was the next most attractive Naya Legend to me. I have always loved enchantments, specifically Shield of the Oversoul, as I had started playing in the Lorwyn block. This guy brought a whole new facet to auras. You could put something meh on him and he would wreck face. I knew there were a lot of good enchantments, specifically auras, in {G} and {W}, and I had seen some nice ones in {R}, so I was excited! What I didn't know at the time is the enchantress support that green (and occasionally white) brought to the table.

What does this beastly deck do?

It's pretty simple. Uril voltrons for 21+ commander damage while having auras attached to him. He is simple to play and relatively easy to get rolling. Uril also has built in protection (hexproof lol), and has auras that can protect him.

During the Early game, play ramp and support creatures. Then play Uril and start playing enchantments on him.

Deck Breakdown:

Uril is really easy to build around he really only needs 3 things: Support, Ramp, and Auras.

Support: Show

This is the most broadly defined term on the list. It mostly revolves around being able to play and use enchantments.

Obviously the enchantress types, such as Mesa Enchantress, Verduran Enchantress, Eidolon of Blossoms, etc., will help me draw cards as I play enchantment spells, meaning that I can play cheap ones to get the most out of the +2/+2 per enchantment that Uril gets.

Herald of the Pantheon and others help me spit out enchantments for cheaper, Umbra Mystic gives Uril resistance to wipes, while Fountain Watch and Sterling Grove keep my opponents from smashing my auras.

Ironclad Slayer and Naya Charm fetch back the nice enchantments that I want back, while Dryad Militant ensures that flashback is not a thing.

Removal: Show

Since these are the 3 colors that also hate on artifacts and enchantments, I have included ways to destroy them like Destructive Revelry or Dawn to Dusk.

Wing Shards and Selesnya Charm provide some good creature removal when needed, being seldom used these days.

As far as fieldwipes go, Chandra's Ignition and Divine Reckoning are very specific wipes that let Uril live. Jokulhaups, however, is a game ender (that doesn't kill enchantments) which Uril survives if he is enchanted with TOTEM ARMOR.

Ramp: Show

Green does what green does best. (Yea, I see you over there artifacts) Straight fetching like Rampant Growth and Kodama's Reach are exactly what I want in this deck. More land means more enchantments.

Font of Fertility and Burgeoning hail from the enchantment realm, one for flavor reasons, and the other because its disgustingly good.

Sol Ring makes a guest appearance, truly the rock of the format. And finally, Commander's Sphere slides in as a tricolor rock that can draw me a card.

Enchantments: Show

Now we get to the good stuff.

Trample and Unblockability is important because they let me hit my opponent directly. Holy Mantle, Unflinching Courage, and of course, the star known as Rancor are cards I always want to draw.

I will settle for flying though. Asha's Favor, Shield of the Oversoul, and Angelic Destiny are always welcome in my hand.

First and Double strike are great, more faces to kick in. Battle Mastery and Ajani, Caller of the Pride are very destructive.

Occasionally haste with Messenger's Speed or Goblin War Paint can help take an opponent off guard if Uril gets Unsummoned or exiled.

Finally, we get to the crazy stuff. Sage's Reverie, Ethereal Armor, Eidolon of Countless Battles, (and hopefully in the future, Ancestral Mask) add to the +2/+2 that Uril already gets per enchantment! HE JUST GETS BIGGER.

Strengths and Weaknesses:

Strengths: Show

This deck excels against decks that don't have creatures. 4/5 times, a deck without creatures doesn't have the tools to deal with Uril because their removal won't hit him.

Since he is Voltron, Uril has less requirements to get through to pillow fort decks, he only has to pay {2} for Propaganda effects, can get past Moat easily with flying, meets Crawlspace requirements, and only has to deal 21.

Weaknesses: Show

Obviously, enchantment removal hits this deck hard. A few cards like Fountain Watch help fix the problem, but won't stop a Back to Nature.

Grave Pact and similar sacrifice effects are scary for this deck since it runs only 21 creatures. Eventually Uril will die to sac effects. Sigarda, Host of Herons can stop this strategy is she is drawn.

Mass exiles and bounces, such as Final Judgment and Evacuation hit Uril 100% of the time. at least Cyclonic Rift returns the enchantments to my hand.

Uril can go toe to toe against agro decks, but some have a better chance of beating him than others.

Honestly, its just fun to play enchantments on a big dumb creature, and watch it grow.
