My version of the Illusion / Grand Architect deck, one of the first decks I made after coming back to MTG. Help on building a sideboard is also appreciated. Kudos if you get the reference for deck name.
Core Creatures
Lord of the Unreal - I've trimmed it down to only 10 illusions but this guy still plays a vital role. Swinging with a hexproof 3/3 Phantasmal Bear on turn 2 is no joke. Phantasmal Image does wonderful things with this guy. (explained later)
Grand Architect - The other lord in this deck. Since its mana ability is not affected by summoning sickness it is possible to drop a Wurmcoil Engine on turn 3 with a little luck.
Phantasmal Image - Maybe its just me, but this is one of my favorite cards. He has infinite uses from being a 3/3 hexproof Lord of the Unreal to a 2 mana Wurmcoil Engine. Did they just play a Phyrexian Obliterator when all you have is Lord of the Unreal? No problem just send out your own Obliterator with +1/+1 and hexproof.
Phyrexian Metamorph - Does alot of the same things that the Image does, but works with Grand Architect instead. Requires Architect on the board to take full advantage of casting cost and +1/+1 bonus but does not suffer from sacrifice when targeted ability that the Image has.
Phantasmal Bear - The only 1 drop creature in this deck but a great one. May be a little vulnerable without Lord of the Unreal but can easily become a 5/5 hexproof by turn 4 or 5.
Finishers
Wurmcoil Engine - Its pretty ridiculous when you cast this guy on turn 3 with the help of Grand Architect and 2 other blue creatures. He is a great target for equipment as well as the image generators. His graveyard ability is almost always useful as well.
Steel Hellkite - Also able to be cast on turn 3, this guy can take wipe out an opponent quickly if not blocked. Most things said about Wurmcoil apply to this guy as well.
Phantasmal Dragon - A 5/5 flier that benefits from both lords for only 4 mana. I'll take it.
Mindslaver - Can be cast on turn 4 at the earliest and ruin your opponents game.
Equipments
Sword of Body and Mind - The only "sword of" that I own is useful for buffing the finishers and taking advantage of the Architect.
Spells
Rune Snag - Having some sort of counter spell is vital for protecting the lords and illusions. This is my main means of doing so.
Redirect - Another way of protecting my creatures and can occasionally change the course of the game if used against the right spell.
Vapor Snag - Useful for clearing a path for something like Steel Hellkite.
Gitaxian Probe - I thought I needed some means of drawing more cards and this one comes cheap with a very nice side effect.
Divination - Another means of drawing cards. Very open to suggestions for this space.
Sideboard
Ratchet Bomb - I've been told that token creatures count as 0 CMC creatures, therefore making this card very useful against token decks. If this is wrong please let me know.
Maybeboard
Frost Titan - I do not have a way to reduce his CMC like I do my other finishers but his ability seems very useful for clearing a path for as well as another great target for my Images.
