Oona, Queen of Combo Exile

Commander / EDH Combo Faeries Mill UB (Dimir)

Rdadich

Why we play Oona

So you're sitting at your local LGS about to play some fun games of commander. Then in comes everyone's favorite spike player. The classic Scroll Rack , Vampiric Tutor and other top deck manipulation is on the way, but we wont allow that in our house! Introducing Oona the combo repellent, your one stop shop to take your opponents annoying combo pieces and say, "good day to you sir!"

Deck Strengths

This Oona deck is not only fun, but very strong in the right hands. I have been playing variations of this deck and tuning it for the past two years to find the right power level between too weak, and too strong / too much combo. What I've settled on is a strong deck that has the ability to knock out your opponents combo pieces, shut down engines, remove tutors and top decks, then value town out to a fun victory. Utilizing Oona's exile, and removing each opponent's deck from the game is our key to victory!

Pros:

The deck has very strong synergy between good cards promoting a fun game with a result of either winning through value town, or stumbling into one of your infinite combos such as Dramatic Reversal and Isochron Scepter or Rings of Brighthearth , Power Artifact and Basalt Monolith or Grim Monolith . Also with the newly unbanned Painter's Servant , we have plenty more value with Oona's ability! The deck is currently what I would say is a step below CEDH sitting at a 9/10 power level. I would not advise playing into a group below a 9/10 power level unless you enjoy being mean and stomping decks that cant stop combo.

Cons:

The deck doesn't have a lot of removal or board wipes, but that is because it would like to win between turn 4 to 8. Generally the deck tries to go infinite, but there are value ways to win as well. I'll leave figuring those up to you as my own little easter eggs.

Conclusion

This being said, if you are the type of player who wants a well tuned deck that can both combo off, or find value and fun ways to win, Oona may be the deck for you. I hope you enjoy the list, this is one of my favorite decks to play in EDH!
