A few days ago my friend approached me with the question of "Is it possible to make a deck with entirely Mythic Rares?" I've taken this question to heart as a challenge and will be attempting it in multiple formats. This is my first attempt at such.

My first thought for modern was the card Grim Flayer , mostly because I like it. Emrakul, the Promised End and Tarmogoyf both fit in that deck as well. However, there aren't enough mythic instants and sorceries that don't cost 11 so that plan fizzled.

However, there is a single sorcery that can get there, which is Startled Awake  . From there, I shoved in a bunch of planeswalkers and voila. Also Dragonlord Silumgar and The Scarab God because they're just good, also Scaraby Boi is good with Startled Awake. Lotus Cobra only exists because it's the sole piece of ramp this deck can play lol.

Because not enough lands have been printed at mythic status (exceptions including Maze's End and Mirrorpool ), I'm ruling that the printings as Zendikar Expeditions count.

Other cards such as Aether Vial , that were printed as Mythic only in expansions such as Kaladesh Inventions or From the Vault do not count, as they are not legally mythics.

Strategy: Pray your opponent isn't playing Blood Moon .
