Primer in my original version here. Theres a lot of changes since then, but that should give you the basic idea. Major difference is that here we are taking extra turns instead of passing the turn between each iteration which allows us to shave a couple cards.

I am still trying to optimize. Any help is appreciated.

The Goals are:

  • Preserve the "setup everything on turn 1" as is done in the original paper (with the exception of paying for the Pacts, if needed)
  • Make it as playable/competative as possible - Meaning: It should have interaction and a decent probability of T1 opening hand
  • Make it playable on MTGO/Forge - Meaning: No setups that are unreasonably time-consuming or require too much clicking; nothing that you would display as a "loop" in paper to shortcut the setup
  • Once the machine is running - there should be no player decisions available. The turns should continue based on the rules of MTG and the cards, with no choices from the player required (same as the original paper).
