The owner can correct me if I'm wrong, but there's no need to run all 4 Gut Shot, because the hardest part is assembling the combo, from there there are many draws that can finish the game, whether it be Duress, combat damage, or Gut Shot, by not running 4 Gut Shot it improves consistency ever so slightly.

Thank you kameenook.
I have played around with this to an almost obsessive level. The combo is just the win-con. It's cheap, easy to pull off, and only a two card requirement.
The hardest part was building a control base that allows me to survive long enough to get out the combo, while having kill-switches still available. Gut Shot is one of those cards you hold until you need it. And with 3 in the deck, you're statistically s'posed to pull one evey game over the course of 7-8 turns.

I'm just curious as to what artifact or enchantment in the meta hurts your combo so bad that it requires a Mainboard annul

Pithing Needle, a staple 1 drop artifact in modern, could ruin my ENTIRE deck. Same as Phyrexian Revoker. The only enchantment I might have a problem with is Wheel of Sun and Moon.

Pithing Needle is hardly a staple, it shows up in sideboards from time to time, but is by no means a staple. Along with Wheel of Sun and Moon, Rest in Peace shuts off your combo, but many opponents might not think of this. However, I recommend running Echoing Truth in the board. It works wonders against tokens, Lingering Souls, and certain pesky sideboard options.

I don't have either. Of course these aren't the only examples of cards that can ruin me. Arrest, One Thousand Lashes, any aura that stops activated abilities. Annul is in no way limited; especially with many enchantment creatures running rampant after Nyx.
It stays.

Great deck, I've been meaning to make one very similar to this for a while, and was wondering; how do you think this deck would fare at a GP or other big event? When i get around to building it(i have a bunch of pet decks) I'll definitely run the gauntlet with it, but I likely won't have it by the time GP Vegas rolls around unfortunately. I'd really love to see a match between it and my 8rack deck. Anyways you already had my +1, I wish I could do it again.

As someone who doesn't compete on a regular basis, I can't honestly say how I think it would do at a GP event.
I would love to see this deck take off in competitive play. I'm taking it next week to a small FNM modern tourney, and will see how it fares there.
I'm flattered that you'd take this to an event like GP Vegas! Let me know how you do, if you take it to anything like that!

I thought GP Vegas was MM2 limited, is there a constructed portion as well?

I have no idea. I don't follow the big tourneys, or the players therein.

Yeah me either,I figured since it was modern legal it could be used at a gp event(shows what I know). I'll definitely let you know how this deck does at a big tournament when I get around to building it.

So, my confidence is shaken.
Lost 2 games in a row to my friend's g/r dragon deck that totally burnt my guildmage. I didn't have 2 mana to counter the Draconic Roar he kept toasting it with.
My question is, would it be a mistake to add 2x Turn Aside and perhaps 2x Robe of Mirrors to either the sideboard or main board? I was going to take out 1 Geth's Verdict and 1 Doom Blade for the Turn Asides. This will lower the mana requirements to protect the combo with the remaining mana on T3. I was also thinking about removing 2x Thoughtscour in the sideboard for the Robe of Mirrors; or should they be in the main board?
Thoughts?

Its all about control.
Besides, I never said it was better than twin. I simply said it's beat several twin decks.
If twin is all there is to win in the meta, then the meta is no good.
I stand on principle. I'd rather lose to a twin with my original deck idea than lose because I played a deck EVERYONE else is playing.
