Thank you for actually helping me Nef.
Not sure why I never thought of this card.

I'm not sure if Psychic Barrier is necessary. You don't really care much about creatures in this deck I feel.
Countersquall provides the life loss if you need it.

Thanks for clarifying that TheAlexGnan. I was rather put off by the last comment. I've worked very hard on this deck to try and make it worthy.
I'm currently sifting through my U to see if I have any Dispels. Turn Aside I will also keep for creatures that do damage or exile "target creature" when they enter play.Prolly flip this to mostly counters in the deck and Move/stuff my sideboard with the kill cards for creature-heavy decks.
Ya?
May 17, 2015 2:10 p.m.
I don't think I understand the reasoning for keeping Turn Aside. It only counters spells, not abilities.

If a creature's targeting ability takes effect when it is cast, I may counter it as a spell that targets my permanent regardless of its type.
Bonus: I have only 2 Dispels in my collection. These will probably replace Doom Blade.
Psychic Barrier will probably come out as well for the other two Turn Aside. Which is essentially more Dispel anyway.

If the creature's etb effect is to exile a creature then Turn Aside won't work. Ex: Banisher Priest

Okay. I misunderstood the priority there.
No, I'm not worried about creatures so much, so its not a big deal that it doesn't work like that. I'll keep a few kill spells in the deck and have to pick my counters carefully.
My strategy and timing have to be better than just the deck doing the work, I suppose.

NateJH,
Where's the pride in that? Even splinter twin and amulet bloom had to be played a first time at a tournament. This is for pride, much better than prizes.
May 17, 2015 4:30 p.m.
Where is the pride in net decking? Mastering a list and having a actual good chance of winning.
May 17, 2015 4:59 p.m.
i completely understand he wants to have fun, but if he truly want a competitive deck something else would be better.
May 17, 2015 5:22 p.m.
The fun in not netdecking is using skill and knowledge to use an under tier deck to snag wins against unsuspecting opponents. If netdecking and mastering a specific deck is your cup of tea then so be it.
May 17, 2015 5:23 p.m.
You can make a competitive deck out of almost anything, it just takes a lot more work than proven lists.

SO!
Would sideboarding Geth's Verdict for Murderous Cut be feasable?
1. Murderous cut doesn't give a choice to the opponent and is non- discriminatory to type.
2. Geth's Verdict is color specific (not that its a problem) but MC could potentially cast for 1-2 with the control cards in the deck being played.

My girlfriend loved using this deck (Sadistic B**ch lol). But I have to admit it's pretty awesome. only thing is we seemed to have trouble getting the right mana all the time. it might be just us but it seems to be a problem. either way it's an up vote for me. top notch governor.

OokamiMaster,
Thanks for the input!
Sorry you're having trouble with mana. I never seem to have a problem with all of the fetch/pain in the deck, though. Granted, the lands are $ expensive so if you're playing with basic or <60% of said lands, you might run into monochromantics.
I appreciate the +1, been stuck here a while!
Cheers.

Have you considered Spellskite in the SB? It both protects your own creatures/artifacts as well as stops Modern Infect, Bogles, Affinity, and Twin decks from getting out of control. I'd even consider using 2 or so in your MD. In the SB I'd replace Robe of Mirrors with it since they fill the same role. Also, AEther Vial enables turn 3 wins when played on turn 1: Turn 1 Vial, turn 2 Mindcrank, turn 3 activate vial to flash in the Guildmage, use 3 mana to activate his ability, then play Gut Shot ftw. You essentially trade some controlling elements for more velocity. It's not for everyone, but I think it's worth checking out. Good testing!

GeminiSpartanX,
While I do love the idea of speeding this deck up, I don't know if spellskite or aether vial are in my budget ATM. Also, I'm just getting to a point where this deck is comfortable for my meta of play. Perhaps, in a future version, but I have no trade or cash worth the 4 of those cards.
Thanks for the suggestions though!

(As I write this comment, I have not perused the myriad of updates on this deck. So if my comment is redundant, I apologize.)
Have you considered Bloodchief Ascension? Paired with your Mindcrank, and assuming it has the necessary Quest counters to become active, it creates an infinite combo of mill-pain. Either decking a player on the spot, or outright killing them. (In multiplayer games, it would also net you all the life the player had before they died, so you could live on to finish off the other players.)
Many of the cards in your deck make it seem feasible to squeeze in the damage to accumulate Quest counters on the Ascension.

Blades_Of_Autumn,
Unfortunately, I am aware of the combo and have heard the suggestion before. I do, however appreciate the help and the attempt to make the deck better. It takes a couple more turns than I'm comfortable with.
I had a similar kill con using Codex Shredder as a colorless 1 drop killcon. Alas, I needed more control over the board for the 2 card slots they were taking up.

No worries! I have a little thing for mean combos like Bloodcrank, and when I see decks that could use it I like to suggest it. Some people have never seen it before! (Had a guy I was chatting with irl completely re-engineer his deck around it.)
I can see your points, Bloodcrank combo tends to be a control deck with that as its wincon. Not necessarily a good pair of cards to just slam into any deck it can fit in. As you said, it's also not the fastest way to win in the format, or even close to it.. lol
Well, thanks anyway for responding! Hate when I leave suggestions or questions and people just never bother to post back.
