Pretty good build i played rdw at fnm a couple times without nykthos or stormbreaths but decided nykthos storm breath and Mizzium Mortars mainboard was faster. Mizzium mortars is a must at least side board. I had trouble if i wasnt able to destroy them quickly enough and they where able to play something like Blood Baron of Vizkopa my board would likely fizzle not being able to attack profitably and them gaining life. Also had trouble against decks that play t1 mana dork t2 Loxodon Smiter or even t3 smiter. I main boarded mortars in my newest rendition of rdw Rainbow rdw

I like this deck and have been using proxies to try it out for FNM, my big question is why are you using Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx ? What are you using it for to dump mana into?

honestly it was an experiment to play with a few ideas, but as a 1 of it works so well im considering adding a 2nd, it greatly speeds up the deck without it this deck perfect world can only turn 4 win, perfect world with it, the deck can turn 3.

but if you feel the shrine isnt to your liking the deck works perfectly fine without it

Mizzium Mortars was dropped early on from one of my builds although you are right about larger creatures i decided to focus less on burning down creatures more just out right ignoring them using Firefist Striker + Madcap Skills

I have played 20+ game with this deck you made, i feel like big creatures are dominating me and i have yet to play a mono blue deck and feel the hurt, i was possibly thinking Act of Treason as a sideboard might help out alot, have you tried to use it at all? I have always loved that card, take there dominating creature and give it haste back at them while preventing blockers at the same time.

Hey bro what's up my cousin is running your version at fnm when we go we have been play testing a lot mostly against my R/G brew I have trying to perfect overtime but if I were to go to fnm or any bigger tourney I would more than likely run my Return Of The Jedi To SelesnyAggro which we have also been play testing with. Just wanted to tell you your deck is super fast and efficient props to you my friend. Check out my R/G brew and let me know what you think, oh by the way my cousin is SolarFusion. Thanks

Act of Treason has never crossed my mind, honestly though i don't often have problems with big creatures if i can push an attack though i hold back for devotion to finish the job or use a couple burn on a target if its a big problem, just make the most of the evasion in the deck if your meta is big creatures drop some burn in place of 2 more Madcap Skills or even add Mizzium Mortars keep in mind this deck is designed around how i play you are free to make any changes let me know how they work out too i love considering new ideas.

flashter says... #8

Not really I get money so It is not really a issue so recommend away my friend, although I still need to get 4 Domri Rade which is going to cost a bit but other than that I have all the cards in the deck and lots of cards to trade if need be.

il take a look tomorrow, what is your aim for the deck for example the aim of this deck is to kill with speed, literally designed to be the fastest possible deck

Sounds good, I like aggro and I have taken a liking to devotion so mostly aggro with a side dish of devotion, looking forward to hear what you have to say about the brew it has been in construction for a while now also I don't want to be like everybody else so in a way I want to be some what unique but at the same time win games on the regular.

talking mostly to flashter but i did say something a few posts up directed at you. I understand what you mean everyone should have a deck that is theirs. i love the idea of green/red devotion i have to say

December 29, 2013 12:16 a.m.

I have an almost identical Red Deck But in mine instead of the 2 Madcap Skills the 1 Hammer of Purphoros and 1 Fanatic of Mogis i run 4 Legion Loyalist in my opinion madcap is too easy to remove and take up your turn 2 mana, I do tend to play a lot of control decks so... but anywho our decks are almost identical. (I would love 4 mutavaults but i dont feel like dropping $130 on 4 cards)

Great deck! +1 from me. Few questions though: when do you find yourself wanting to side in Anger of the Gods ? What about when to side in Legion Loyalist and Hammer of Purphoros ? What do you take out? I'm trying to decide on whether to make my competitive deck Rakdos aggro or mono red devotion, like this. My Rakdos aggro has more removal which can be really effective against certain matchups, but this deck has a much more solid and consistent mana base. It went 6-4 against my Bloodletter's Wonderland. Would you mind taking a look at that deck, giving suggestions and a +1 if you like it?

Thanks!

sorry its been a while Regulus1010 il have a peak, Anger of the Gods is a tricky card, it will ruin your board so you only play it against mirror match or faster decks, as this deck can slow down a bit hit hard with devotion, as for what do you remove, it depends whats good or bad against your match up, i can't really say what i take out as it changes if i am going the devotion route Madcap Skills and Firefist Striker are removed in place of better cards for my situation but it does change from match up to match up

What do you think of Thunderous Might ?

March 5, 2014 4:56 a.m.

quickstream says... #21

Ferdinand you are better off with Fanatic of Mogis it's garenteed damage without the risk of been blocked or removal

Ferdinand says... #22

what is your opinion on Rubblebelt Raiders ? How do you side board agains mono blue and mono black and the white aggro?

March 9, 2014 12:53 a.m.

quickstream says... #23

This deck was designed purely to be the fastest deck you should beat most other decks that been said I ain't updated it recently

shika71 says... #24

I run a similar design for my standard deck, i dont run the strikers, but instead i run stormbreath dragons, and 3 of nykthos. i just took out 1x purphuros, 1x chandra, and 1x stormbreath for 3 madcap skills and they seem to be working pretty well, ill put up a decklist soon, check it out, +1 from me man good job

May 24, 2014 12:42 a.m.

quickstream says... #25

thank you, this deck is a little old now but still very strong very few changes i think i could make off the bat without changing the whole way the deck works but this has the potential for a turn 3 win you cant knock that in standard
