i have always wanted to do a deck like this but with Daghatar the Adamant.

I'm trying to decide whether or not i hate this or Talrand, Sky Summoner more. This is the type of general that if I see him at my table I will just leave.

There's no feeling like seeing a Winter Orb on turn 2. I would prefer a Isochron Scepter+Silence in comparison to that. At least I know I'm screwed then. The waiting is what kills me.

its funny you say that, i play death and taxes in modern. also my commander decks are blue(this is the only that isnt), outside of edh i dont really play blue, but being awful is fun just like edh :o)

yes, i do. i am in process of adding more mana rocks to the deck. i am not trying to run the creatureless stax deck, i wanted it more of a death and taxes build so i will be adding more rocks but i do want creatures in this deck. Usually the hokori deck is a artifact deck, but i already have a artifact so i dont want another one. but yes you are right i do want more rocks.

i guess i will be tweaking it to a more of a death and Staxes if you will.

How about Eon Hub? No land untaps, period

Although requiring a high mana cost, I might consider Chancellor of the Annex. It taxes a bit more.

Other than that... I'd like to know what nickname your opponents usually give you. I bet it is fitting and well deserved. :P

You could add Expedition Map to help fetch Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. I would also recommend then adding an Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth to go with Mana Web. And if you wanted to you could then run Karma for extra value against decks that land ramp harder than you.

Yeah, the ability makes things a swamp but because it's not a "Land - Swamp" it doesn't intrinsically have "tap: add to your mana pool". My girlfriend runs it in her Captain Sisay deck just for the fact that it's a tutorable fix for fetches and Maze of Ith.
