Nice deck! I have a similar deck but i do not use the enchantments because they are obligatory. If an opponent plays tokens or other aggro cards, you end up being forced to kill your own creatures. I use Snakeform, great for preventing opponents to combo, Quillspike to eat the (infinite) counters you don't need and Soul Snuffers to put counters on creatures with hexproof! I don't use tutoring but i use Scarscale Ritual. Tutoring is better. ;) +1So if i may suggest, i would cut a couple of Juvenile Gloomwidows, for some Snakeforms. I would switch 4x Rendclaw Trow with 4x Quillspikes.

Thanks Krapak! I was thinking of adding Quillspike earlier but I left them out. After that I added Devoted Druid and now that it is in the deck, Quillspike makes even more sense (even though it need many cards to combo but after it does, it's golden and even before that it is great). I also added couple of Snakeform but I'm not 100% sure about those yet. They could become handy but CMC on them is pretty high. I might change them to Sudden Spoiling or Polymorphist's Jest because then hexproof wouldn't be that big of a problem.

Yeah, I actually think Polymorphist's Jest will work better so I changed them.

He is nice too! When you use Polymorphist's Jest, why not Soul Snuffers It is not only a boardwipe but all the creatures will be yours!

True, f I'm running correct cards. It would also require 7 mana to do and most likely at that point the game is already over. But I take that into consideration.

Ok but you don't have to play it at the same time! if you play Soul Snuffers the 4th turn, turn 5 you play the Polymorphist's Jest!

I think basics and fetches are pretty good right now.

Weird Harvest. maybe only in the sideboard though. Some decks will have nothing good to tutor, while you can tutor up a win.

I seriously can't think of any decks that wouldn't benefit from tutoring.

Many control decks, the worst deck to play it against is probably Splinter Twin or some combo pod, without the pod, deck. They can tutor up their creatures, but they just won't be as powerful as yours, because yours are made to win the game, theirs are made to play fair. I played against an elf devotion combo deck with B/W tokens, and it was sad to see him play Weird Harvest (for me of course).

cmskinny, well. It would be one way to go, for sure but I think that this deck can already produce all the counterss it needs and there is definite drawback with Zenith. It is though on list of possible additions if it seems that there is more needs for counters.

Kulrath Knight have you maybe considered this one? :)

February 16, 2015 1:40 a.m.

Aefinn says... #17

Licecolony, thanks for suggesting! I don't know if I would have that much use for it. Even though that ability is neet, most of the time I wouldn't utilize it because I produce enough counters to kill all those creatures. It that CMC was lower, we would talk business.

Have you considered Kulrath Knight as a means of locking down your opponents? It's a little slow compared to the rest of your deck I'll admit but it will work great with your Soul Snuffers for a complete control.

stalydan read one comment above yours :)

Oops sorry, I didn't see that one. Possibly make it a sideboard tactic? Could I also ask what your tactic against Melira, Sylvok Outcast is? I know the pod decks are out now but she does see some minor play still in Kitchen Finks decks which could disrupt your own tactics.

Aefinn says... #22

No worries, stalydan. The way I see it that there is always cards you can't deal with. If you try thinking about everything, you end up having the actual playable deck. Most likely against Melira I would try to use Devoted Druid + Quillspike combo. Maybe sideboard some destruction spells.

No Contagion Clasp? Or its big bro, Contagion Engine? They seem like they would be absolute houses here.

thuzra, proliferate is nice ability but there are few reasons why I haven't added those. First, is the manacost to use said abilities. Secondly, they only give 1 counter for each permanent. I would rather prefer it to be single target that doubles the counters like Vorel of the Hull Clade does but even with that I'm not going to bother. These mechanics works only if I already have means of producing -1/-1 counters and if I already manage to do that, there is high chance that I can do that infinite, making suggested artifacts meaningless.
