Hey nice deck :-)

For some suggestions, take a look at The Infinite Master

How do you prevent decking yourself?

Never mind, you cast lab man. I wouldn’t play him. Would rather play Nexus of Fate and one of the sun’s zenith to prevent a loss from decking yourself. Lab man is a dead card until you are at that point. Doesn’t help your control board game plan.

Also, two of the three draw combo pieces say “may” on them. So you just stop. The other two you have Niv-Mizzet target himself at the end to stop the loop. Then you’ve still got your whole deck in your hand.

I feel like running stax would be an amazing option here. Cursed Totem, Torpor Orb, graffdiggers cage, pithing needle, stranglehold and propaganda would all be worthy inclusions. I am gonna run a stax parun deck personally. Also, I feel like you dont need wheel affects. I find those cards actually end up helping your opponents in the long run. Its a cool synergy but ultimately doesnt help you get to your combo except winds of change that allow you to re loop for one mana. Just run the tutors to get to Dramatic Isochron or the enchantments. I would run dizzy spell for its transmute, fabricate to get isochron, and whir of invention for redundancy. Honestly you would not even need lab man if you concentrate on the re loop aspect. Cards like winds of change, elixir of immortality, or learn from the past are very good. I won the other day buy drawing my library, stopping with ten cards, go to my end step to discard, then activate elixir (need to cast a draw spell instant to re loop) or learn from the past to re loop on the end step. Otherwise this is a great build for a fun niv deck!

So let me ask you something, I’ve been messing around with building a spellslinger deck like this myself and I just don’t see how you would avoid being taken out through just being attacked directly with haveing so few creatures and nothing to really prevent them from attacking into you like propaganda or just haveing blockers. Do these type of decks just win so fast your not concerned or am I just missing some aspect?

Yeah, the plan is to just win before enough damage stacks up to matter. You can counter any major threats, or you've got cards like Evacuation and Cyclonic Rift , but you want to put most of your energy into crossing the finish line rather defense. In my experience this tends to be a pretty effective strategy.
