Logan Mize took 2nd at SCG Chicago over the weekend with this deck. Played really effectively against G/R devotion mostly due to
Aqueous Form
and Stratus Walk. Buffed up unblockable Heroic creatures could swing across the board uncontested and there are just enough protection spells to stand against control decks. This deck appears to play itself and disregards opponent play styles. I believe he would've taken first if he had better draws in game 3. Which leads me to ask, how can this deck be improved?
Comments and suggestions welcome!
This deck fulfills budget IMO, Mana Confluence and 4x Flooded Strand could be subbed out for a more affordable card or even just basic lands, they're run for perfected mana distribution but $60+ just for land breaks the bank for most budget decks. I see
Temple of Enlightenment
necessary for scrying but is still an optional card.
Monastery Mentor
is the most expensive card, but only got played once, prowess was very helpful in the end, but this card could still be replaced in order to cut costs.
I've made negligible changes to lands. Original deck can be found here
