Oros's Disposable Army

Commander / EDH

SkyboundTerror

A defensive casual Commander deck with Oros, the Avenger spearheading!

This is a creature-heavy deck with a lot of moving parts and multiple strategies, but the main idea is to build up an army using smaller creatures, then wipe the board in one fell swoop while Blood Artist, Rage Thrower, and/or Stalking Vengeance are in play. Vizkopa Guildmage is icing. If that doesn't work, you can always try attacking with your creatures and pump out more to keep you safe!

The planeswalkers are very important for this deck, especially Sorin, Lord of Innistrad. Getting his emblem into play is a priority as it will make your smaller creatures much more of a threat in the late game.

Notable synergies:

Haunted Crossroads + Infernal Genesis - A token engine. Once one of the fatties end up in your graveyard and you have these cards on board, you'll be pumping out multiple minions per turn. Works wonders when you have Soul Warden, Healer of the Pride, and/or Elspeth Tirel on the board.

Lashknife Barrier + Thrashing Wumpus - Locks your opponent from having almost any creature on the board. It's a mean lock, made meaner if you manage to give the Wumpus lifelink. Laughs at the stack.

Death Pits of Rath + Deathbringer Thoctar - Another way to control the board completely, and gives you the ability to wipe your own side to trigger lethal damage if you have any of the win-con creatures out. Also laughs at the stack.

Blade of the Bloodchief + Olivia Voldaren - This is a bit of an awkward card combination, but with Olivia's first ability, you can turn any one of your creatures into a vampire (as long as you don't have Lashknife Barrier or the Pits out in play). With how fast creatures die in this deck, you can easily pump up one of your smaller creatures to a tremendous size to create an immediate threat, if they survive the 1 damage from Olivia. If you can chuck the beefy weenie with Brion Stoutarm, even better!

Ankle Shanker + Brutal Hordechief - So you have an army now. Use it.

This is a deck I've been working on and changing many times throughout the year. It was originally supposed to have a ton of graveyard recursion, boardwipes, control, and tutors, but I removed that stuff to make it more "fun" and creature-based. The biggest problem I've had with this deck was having the right lands out, and running out of cards while having a fragile board state. The planeswalkers help fix the fragile board states, but it can still happen. Horn of Greed seems to have fixed the mana problem while keeping matches interesting, though it can screw you over if you don't get the right draws.

This deck has become very topdeck dependent after I removed the tutors. Whether that's good or bad is up to you. Suggestions appreciated and welcome!
