I am revamping this list because I want to play W/B post SOI rotation. Advice and suggestions are welcome, if you recommend things, please be sure to elaborate. Nothing is concrete or fixed, just seeing if I can make it viable.
Lands:
Shambling Vent - A man land that becomes a 2/3 lifelink creature that lets me keep on the pressure after a board wipe. Plus with Drana, it can gain counters that make it hit harder.
Forsaken Sanctuary
- Sure it comes in tapped, but it gives mana fixing.
Caves of Koilos - More mana fixing, so I have the right mana when I need it.
Swamp - Because without it, this isn't Orzhov.
Plains - Because without it, this isn't Orzhov.
Creatures:
Knight of the White Orchid - A two mana 2/2 drop with First Strike, that fetches up a plains. It works for me.
Heir of Falkenrath
- A 3/2 flyer for two mana isn't terrible, does a lot of early game work with evasion.
Hidden Dragonslayer
- A little megamorph gem, that does a lot of work. When I need a 2/1 on the field with lifelink, he's there kicking butt and taking names. When I need removal, face down and flip to destroy my opponent's big beaters.
Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim - This card screams Orzhov. Tthe lifegain helps nullify the costs of Anguished Unmaking, and deathtouch is always relevant.
Drana, Liberator of Malakir - One of the best black creature cards to come out of Zendikar. She takes to the skies and dominates, making all of my other attacking creatures bigger and better.
Drana's Emissary - A perfect Orzhov card, drop one or two of these on the board, and inevitability sets in. The flying on this card is just gravy.
Archangel of Tithes - A death and taxes feeling card, that makes it costly for my opponents' to block and attack. Also serves as a great blocker and beater with evasion.
Accursed Witch
- A highly underrated transformation card. Either it's a 4/2 beater that gets in for 4 damage, or it becomes a ticking clock for my opponent when it dies and transforms.
Archangel Avacyn
- Flash, Flying, a solution to boardwipes, and if I have the mana, I can sac a creature to Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim when I drop Avacyn, clearing my opponent's board and transforming Avacyn while protecting my creatures. A win-win situation.
Spells:
Celestial Flare
- Shuts down attacking and blocking creatures, and gets around hexproof. Definitely a staple of the deck.
Always Watching - This gem of an enchantment always gives me blockers, and most folks forget about the +1/+1 and make poor trade decisions. Definitely a good card.
Anguished Unmaking - This is Orzhov removal at its finest.
Stasis Snare
- Deals with pesky untransformed Planeswalkers, big creatures that want to hurt me, or obnoxious critters. It has flash. If it hit permanents, it would be Banishing Light 2.0.
Tragic Arrogance - My one of board wipe, for setting the board state in my favor. Highly underrated card that does a lot of work when it lands.
Sideboard:
Center Soul - Protection to get damage in, ward off removal, and it rebounds. Versatile.
Virulent Plague - Deals with all of those pesky token creatures. You know, the spirits, clerics, wolves, insects, Eldrazi spawns, and any other tokens that I may have missed.
Infinite Obliteration - A better Surgical Extraction for plucking pesky win conditions from decks.
Self-Inflicted Wound
- Green and White hate.
Surge of Righteousness
- Red and Black hate.
Vryn Wingmare - Making control decks slower and more costly.
