• 4x {W}Arcbound Mouser: lifelink is the glue that holds this deck together.
• 4x {1}{W}Arcbound Prototype: two +1/+1 counters are better than one.
• 3x {1}{W}Parish-Blade Trainee: not an artifact, but can make it's own +1/+1 counters.

More Counters:

• 2x {W}Guiding Voice: a counter then fetch a 2/1 flier for later.
• 2x {1}{B}Unexpected Fangs: lifelink really do be holding this deck together, move the counter around with Iron Apprentice and Parish-Blade Trainee.
• 4x {1}{W}Greatsword of Tyr: grow 'em and tap those blockers

Draw:

• 4x {B}Village Rites, 4x {1}{B}Deadly Dispute: Pretty good combat trick for moving counters, draws you cards.

Kill:

• 2x {B}Tragic Slip, 2x {1}{B}Cast Down: drawing cards and killing stuff, that's what black is for.

Honorable Mentions:

• Ashnod's Transmogrant: printed years prior to modular, cards like this really do make me wonder.
• Spiteful Squad: playable if it was {1}{W}{B}
• Star Pupil: not an artifact creature so it can't suck up the modular counters like the apprentice can
