Another FNM —June 24, 2017

Played another FNM yesterdag. Got the following results:

  • Round 1 - Tron Eldrazi (1-2)
  • Round 2 - Affinity (2-1)
  • Round 3 - Jund (0-2)
  • Round 4 - Temur Control (2-0)

Going to make the following changes mainboard (decklist already updated):

  • (+) 2 Dark Confidant: this card just gives too much card advantage to not play 4 of, so I'm going to invest in a full playset.
  • (+) 2 Zealous Persecution: I notice that some games I just only play 1/1's and do nothing else at all. I'm going to try out Zealous Persecution, hoping to be able to play a little more aggressive. Not sure about this card yet, but I'm more than happy to try it out.
  • (+) 1 Marsh Flats: more fetches > more thinning and better mana. Additionally, this will be my first on-color one.
  • (+) 1 Viscera Seer: it seems to me that finding the right cards through Viscera Seer is more powerful than Cartel Aristocrat. It's also cheaper, which makes it easier to drop several important pieces in one turn.
  • (-) 1 Blood Artist: cutting down on aristocrat pieces to make place for Zealous Persecution and Dark Confidant. Not sure if I'd rather want Blood Artist or Zulaport Cutthroat. Therefore I am cutting one down on both.
  • (-) 1 Plains: going to add a Marsh Flats.
  • (-) 1 Sram's Expertise: I'm not too sold on this card yet. Might even cut it out of the deck completely, eventually.
  • (-) 1 Zulaport Cutthroat: See Blood Artist.
  • (-) 2 Cartel Aristocrat: doesn't feel too good as a four-of. Cutting some of them for now.
