Introduction

About me, deck and some cards. Feel free to skip if you feel like it. Show

Note that I left "Win Cons" and "Good Interactions" without spoiler tags since those are the most important ones.

I'm a long time commander player who loves this format above all else. I've built and piloted decks from cEDH to absolute jank and I'm always up for a game or two. My favorite color combination is Golgari and my absolute best deck is my highly tuned The Gitrog Monster. My other favorite deck is my recently built Gyruda, Doom of Depths "Roulette - House always wins" deck with foil Gigan as it's main kaiju. I don't know why I said that, this deck introduction is about Lurrus of the Dream-Den.

Reason Why I built this deck is twofold: I don't have a Orzhov deck as of yet and I did not find other decklists of Lurrus that piqued my interest. Purpose of this build is simply to execute one of the winning combo lines and ride to sunset. While this deck has some tutors in it I've decided to make this a semi-budget list with cards I already have or can aquire semi-easily. That means that there is no dual lands, fetches, Vampiric Tutor or Imperial Seal in here. Yet at least, we never know what WoTC has in store for us and the game. Ad Nauseam is a all star in this deck and probably my favorite instant ever. Combine it with Angel's Grace and Sickening Dreams to win the game. Other main combo line in this deck is Leonin Relic-Warder, Animate Dead or Dance of the Dead together with Zulaport Cutthroat or Corpse Knight type effect. In order to get there I've icluded lot of removal, draw and some tutors. I'm constantly tweaking the deck in order to get it to the point I feel comfortable with. I've tried to make combos and some card choices easy to look for so hence the name "Orzhov Combo and Control: Simplified Lurrus. You might think that ´Why is Dark Tutelage here, wouldn't Phyrexian Arena do things same thing with possibly less damage and without letting your opponents know what you have in hand?´and to that I say yes and no. Dark Tutelage is in my opinion an underrated card and especially good in here. Since our average cmc is about 2 we don't really take any major damage from it and it's effect is worded so that cards like Narset, Parter of Veils don't affect it. It also costs 2B instead or 1BB which Phyrexian Arena requires and gives me more choices what mana sources to use.

Honestly speaking this deck has been a blast to play and really like it. While not cEDH level it can put up a good fight. I recommend trying this deck if you like Lurrus of the Dream-Den, like combo decks that are not totally degenerate and like to keep your average cmc count small. I don't recommend this deck if combo is not your thing.

Contamination + Bitterblossom / Dreadhorde Invasion / Lurrus of the Dream-Den = Resource denial

Smokestack = Stax and together with Lurrus breaking parity is easier. If I add Contamination + Bitterblossom / Dreadhorde Invasion I'll probably also add this one too.

Drannith Magistrate and other hatebears = Hatebear / Stax route is a possibility.

Village Rites + Archfiend's Vessel = Maybe a bit too cute for it's own good.

Bastion of Remembrance and other effects like it.

Wishclaw Talisman = Great if you plan to go off the turn you cast it, damned if you don't

Heliod, Sun-Crowned + Walking Ballista = Another possible win con with pieces that can be tutored. I just don't think that this deck is a place for them but it is certainly a possibility.

Mangara, the Diplomat = Cool new piece, love it, hate it or meh it Mangara's here to stay. I think the deck has enough draw effects but new Mangara is definitely a possibility.

Selfless Savior - Although good boy, it has not performed as well as I would've liked since my meta runs a lot of single target exile effects.

Sun Titan - Awesome card but costs a lot. It enables some combos in the deck but I'm not too sure about it's place.

Bounty Agent - Versatile and good card that gets falls a bit short thanks to its tap activation cost.

Why Chrome Mox and Lotus Petal

Because easy fast mana is as degenerate as it is awesome. I added Chrome Mox and Lotus Petal in order to get some free ramp when executing Ad Nauseam + Angel's Grace line. They can be cut but I recommend keeping them in the deck if possible. Obviously cards like Mana Crypt and other moxes are great too.

Gravebreaker Lamia - Costs a lot and cost reduction it gives feels way too small since we only can cast 2 or less cmc to begin with. If I need something like this I'll add either this or Corpse Connoisseur. Added Soul-Guide Lantern instead.
