Here is my extortion deck. It (as you may have guessed) relys on a lot of extortion. Early creatures can either be Tithe Drinker, to get some early lifelink effects out, Basilica Screecher also allows so early damage. Or set up and good defense with Basilica Guards.

All these set up some early creatures to extort with, and as the game progresses you can continue to cast these, but begin extorting on top of them. Crypt Ghast is the key card that comes next. Doubles your swamps, which lets you cast higher creatures faster, 3 swamps and a plains gets you your Enovy of ghosts.

Your late game creatures are Obzedat, Ghost Council, which works out the life damage and steal even more, and Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts. Teysa will let you sit back fairly comfortably and allow your exort or flying creatures to chip the life down.

The key magics are your stopping cards. One Thousand Lashes is amazing to play early, even if it doesnt mean waiting for a big creature. I use Pacifism and sideboard Doom Blade, simply due to the amount of black decks I face (i play MTG online). Angelic Edict also lets you shut down big creatures, but is often more useful against enchantments.
