A midrange tier 2 deck that has some excellent matchups. Burn often struggles to beat the lifegain, hand disruption, first strike, hate and Shalai is a bit of a powerhouse.

It is generally weak to control and combo decks until sideboard, matches up quite well to aggro strategies. It's a bit of a mishmash of static abilities for Odric, but most of the cards are quite strong on their own.

Aether vial seems like a bit of a key to surprise block or just to protect your creatures and work around counters.

Resolving an Odric is usually the game if it hangs around for a few turns with some fliers. Nothing quite beats the first strike/deathtouch creatures either.
