Glad I could help.
And I've been tossing up with the Nighthawk either in the main or SB. Thanks for the help!

Looks great! I like decks that make use of sacrifice and this one looks very effective. +1

Cheers man, I've been doing decent with the deck so far in some practice matches. Just waiting to take it to and FNM when I get the cards.

SushiSamurai, I've never thought of that one. He can die twice. Only issue I have though is my mana. I need to make sure the only white sources I have need to produce black as well to guarantee a T3 Geralf's Messenger. He may just end up as a first-turn dead draw, which is not nice.
That, and he's not very useful to Gravecrawler. If I drop a zombie for him, it'll be harder for him to come back from the graveyard.
I'll definitely consider it though. Cheers!

I'm not a huge fan of Silverblade Paladin in this deck. What about Knight of Infamy? Has an exalted effect which is nice, protection from white which is great against the naya human decks, and is also just cheaper.
I made an immortal servitude 2-drop deck in orzhov, sharing a lot of the same stuff. I think I'm going to change it to something more like this. Thanks for the inspiration!

Silverblade Paladin is there as a "finisher" of sorts. Throw it on Cartel Aristocrat and you have a 2/2 Double Strike Unblockable in most cases.I could swap it out for something, only issue is that it needs to be some kind of finisher, if I lose the race with my opponent.
March 4, 2013 1:02 a.m.
If you're looking for a finisher, I recommend Obzedat. There was a successful Orzhov zombies list in the pro tour than topped out at several Obzedats. It also ran a couple more lands, so you only want 2 copies.
March 4, 2013 1:08 a.m.
Yeah, I agree with Pony. That's kinda what my new list is trying to accomplish: deck:blackwhite-zombies-1
March 4, 2013 1:15 a.m.
oh! I remember what I was thinking. Sublime Archangel (which i see in your maybeboard) turns Cartel Aristocrat into a POWERHOUSE.
March 4, 2013 3:35 a.m.
I do like Obzedat, and he does seem like a good finisher. 5 seems a bit steep, especially if there's nothing to round out the 4cmc point in my curve.
I just realised how silly Sublime Archangel makes the Aristocrat. Hot damn.I think I might include it over Silverblade Paladin

Why not Oblivion Ring instead of Soul Tithe.. I don't get it. It's not a big deal, the difference between two and three in our decks.
March 4, 2013 4:19 p.m.
You do have a very good point, I think I may do the swap now.

I must say, I'm normaly not into the standard decks that much, but this deck seems like a hell-a-lot of fun! +1 from me, my good sir~

You mentioned needing a finisher.....Obzedat, Ghost Council? He is a hard to kill beast. If I could afford the duel lands I would be making your deck with him in it.
March 5, 2013 2:34 p.m.
I like your deck, and it reminds me a lot of my own Orzhov deck. I focus a bit more on tokens to feed blood artist, but the concept is the same. You could check it out, and see what you think. For example, I would take out the archangel and maindeck vamphawks, but maybe that's just me. Cheers!
March 5, 2013 3:19 p.m.
Only problem is that Obzedat doesn't have haste, where I can drop the Archangel and swing with a Messenger or Cartel Aristocrat for big damage. Admittedly though, he swings for 4 life every upkeep, which is awesome.
March 5, 2013 10:06 p.m.
obzedat does have haste after he is played. he doesn't have HASTE haste but he can still always swing for 5 like a normal creature.
March 5, 2013 10:31 p.m.
I keep forgetting the fact that he's a 5/5 body in addition to his leeching ability. I think some playtesting is required

Done. Welcome to the party, Obzedat.
Turns out I do, infact, have time fo Obzedat.

I see a lot of "sacrifice a creature" effects, but not many reanimation effects. Adding those could help you out a bit, even if you only side them. You'll rarely need to use all 4 Blind Obedience, so that's a good place to start looking to cut cards.
March 6, 2013 8:19 p.m.
What kind of reanimation effects? I personally find Unburial Rites a bit expensive for this deck, which is for the most part, aggro. Are there any other good black/white creatures with recursion?

I'm not entirely sure what's standard anymore, but from what I've seen, there isn't much to pick from. I'm pretty sure there are some black spells which can bounce things back to your hand, and some white creatures that will spawn in tokens upon death. These could also be useful to you. I'm sorry I'm not too much help, just trying to suggest some things that occurred to me.

I have toyed with Immortal Servitude, but it seems ineffective in a meta throwing Terminus' everywhere. Could be fun after a Wrath, though.

Personally, I would swap out High Priest of Penance in your SB with Vampire Nighthawk . Mainly because you will need the life gain in situations you can't race your opponent.
I found your info description to be quite helpful, I may end up running Skirsdag High Priest and Thrull Parasite in my Orzhov zombie deck.
