If i had a Blasphemous Act, it almost always wipes the board right? And when it does, since all creatures are wiped out together with Blood Artist, will it's ability still be triggered?
March 12, 2013 1:24 a.m.
blood artist triggers as many creatures are on the field. if there are 7creatures on the board, blood artist triggers 7 times. all the deaths happen simultaneously, so all the triggers go on the stack at the same time.

I seriously considered making something along the lines of a Blood Artist, Gravecrawler, (perhaps Veilborn Ghoul and Shadow Alley Denizen combination.

That was meant to be a **(perhaps Veilborn Ghoul).
Apologies for a double post to correct my poor punctuation.

Cheers for your feedback. It looks like I'll have to put some thought into how I can deal with Esper Control. Thanks for noticing that match-up!
I've always been a big fan of Mikaeus, the Unhallowed. Only issue is that he's really expensive, and is really prone to removal himself, which is very annoying, hence why I wouldn't choose him.
I have considered the use of Bloodflow Connoisseur over Bloodthrone Vampire. She has two negatives though. Firstly, she's at the end of the mana curve, and is one mana higher than Bloodthrone (As you mentioned). Secondly, the immediate effect of sacrificing a creature is twice as small as Bloodthrone. The extra damage afforded by swinging with a 7/7, rather than a 4/4 in Bloodflow's case has saved my bacon numerous times.

Fix'd!
I have! I never thought about the Vampires giving me more things to sacrifice. Only now I have to find something to replace with him.
Ghoulcaller's Chant is a great selection. But, I can't justify replacing anything in this deck with it.

I had a think about Terminus
The options I could think of were not great...
Shun me if you will but would Cellar Door not at least go some way to counter Terminus.
If possible, I'd suggest finding a way to splash blue on your sideboard for such things. It would be handy for you to have access to Cyclonic Rift
Otherwise, you could use the highly expensive Diabolic Revelation, your thoughts?

The benefit of Cellar Door would be that you would a get a 2/2 token, and you would hopefully pull your Gravecrawlers to your graveyard making them castable/make other cards salvageable from your graveyard..
March 12, 2013 7:50 a.m.
When Terminus is cast you get to choose the order in which your creatures go to the bottom. Therefore you can put a gravecrawler on the bottom and then cast cellar door. This would give you a 2/2 token AND gravecrawler.

ChiefBell sounds like a viable sideboard card given that. I had thought about the order but I didn't know the ruling D':

I've given you a +1, you've thought about a lot of scenarios.
I hope you find some space to put Immortal Servitude back into your sideboard (or even mainboard).
The majority of your creatures that cannot bring themselves back from the graveyard (Gravecrawler) are 2CMC, which works perfectly with Immortal Servitude, gives you great recovery from board to graveyard wipes.

I really like the rules and flavour of Immortal Servitude, but I'm unsure what to drop in my board for it at the mo...

I think you could afford to get rid of 1x Lingering Souls and replace it with Sorin, Lord of Innistrad. 5/5 Flying Demons are always handy.
Could be worth play-testing at least?
Is there any room to reduce creatures, e.g. reduce the Vampire Nighthawks in your SB to make space for the Immortal Servitude?

@dream_cast my idea was a fast hitting deck built around some one and two-drops, then a Blood Artist to keep the dmg piling even as my weenie creatures die for some reason around turn 3 onwards. then around turn 5~ ill be able to drop some bombs

Then I think you have a good deck and sideboard, now you need to play some FNM and keep me updated with your results :D

i still lack 3 Geralf's Messengers hahaha im pretty low on cash and i dont want to ask my parents for some hahaha. ive been running some playtests on it against other top decks in this site and byfar it has been the most consistent against 90% of the top decks posted here.. Bnyan's deck hss been a huge help cos ive been trying to figure out for days what kind of deck i want haha.. and im not a huge fan of multi-coloreds
March 12, 2013 2:22 p.m.
I'm currently testing 2x Sorin, Lord of Innistrad over 2x Lingering Souls. Testing begins now!
Let me know how it playtests! I'd greatly appreciate it.

Have you considered using a Vault of the Archangel the lifelink + deathtouch would pair well with your Bloodthrone Vampire and Cartel Aristocrat
March 13, 2013 8:14 a.m.
Hmmm, I should consider it. Deathtouch is especially useful. Though, 5 mana is a big cost. And the land itself only produced colourless. Bad news for Geralf's Messenger.
March 13, 2013 9:19 a.m.
dream_cast says... #23
I think five mana is justifiable to give all creatures deathtouch and lifelink in a reusable manner.
Especially since lands are typically harder to destroy than other pemanents.

dream_cast says... #24
I do agree that the five mana is a big cost, but it's a powerful threat utility, and the lifelink to help fuel those Thrull Parasites.
Again, you'd use the card in response to something, for example, when blocking? Making all of your defenders suddenly have deathtouch and lifelink which you could spring at any time...
March 13, 2013 9:57 a.m.
The deck is looking good! I would consider swapping 2x Thrull Parasite for 2x Lingering Souls, one of the best utility cards IMO. I find the parasites don't hit for much and having the mana to fuel extort can be difficult until the mid-game. It gives up a bit of speed but at the end of the day you get 4 flying critters with one card, and the flashback gives some board wipe recovery capability.

@Bnyan
Going back to reanimation spells how about Ghoulcaller's Chant?
