Like the deck. I play a similar build, but less controlling, more aggro. I run undying evil in my sb. It's done so much work for me against all the kill spells and edict effects everyone is running that I'm giving serious thought to main decking them. I noticed your list doesn't include them. Just wondering if you tried them before?

Thanks for the idea! Lemme throw that in maybeboard, and I'll try a few copies next time I play this! Remember to upvote and share the deck if you like it!

Hi! I just want to say thanks I made this deck and i am loving it. I hope to take it to a tournament soon! Again, many thanks! I started playing magic with a black-white deck (clerics, 12 years ago, more or less) and i wanted to make something similar (but more effective xd). This doesn't use the same mechanics but is similar in spirit :D i'm in love with it <3

Pillory of the Sleepless seems like it would be good in this deck.

Thanks! I appreciate that!
Pillory of the Sleepless may be too slow for the deck though. If you look at the cards on the mana curve, you have to ask whether this would be a better replacement for Unmake or Read the Bones. I don't think that it would have as high of an impact on the board state nor would it provide a game-swinging amount of fuel. I definitely like the card though!

Thanks! Another good suggestion I've definitely thought about! Again, the 3-drop slot is difficult to get into. While I like the 2/2 Flying body, the extort is kind of redundant with 4 Tithe Drinker's. It doesn't benefit you much to have multiples when you have a tight manabase. If that thing had lifelink.. that'd be another story! and probably not a common anymore!

so if you have a Nightsky Mimic, then cast Edge of the Divinity on it, does it become 7/7 or 4/4? if it becomes a 7/7, that's a cool thing to do on turn 3 but if not you can always cast it on the lifelink thrull.
October 1, 2016 12:22 p.m.
big_kahuna333 it become a 7/7, and if you have two edges it become a 10/10. It happened to me once xD

The ultimate draw is this (and I've done it in a tournament.. jaws dropped):
T1: Land - Nip Gwyllion
T2: Edge of the Divinity + Edge of the Divinity - Attack for 7
T3: Edge of the Divinity number 3 + Edge of the Divinity number 4 - Attack for 13 - good game!
Granted, I used to run Ethereal Armor which made that combo much more possible (and I think that is what actually happened in the tourney). The point is, Edge of the Divinity is my favorite card in the deck, hands down.

Is Guardian of the Guildpact really worth the 3 slots in the side? When do you use it?Nice one, btw.

That's a great question. So often times, playing against a faster, more aggressive deck that can race, I'll take out a lot of the "black and white" synergy on cards such as Nightsky Mimic and bring in more control cards. When bringing out a lot of threats, it's necessary to have a finisher that is both versatile and resilient to removal. Guardian of the Guildpact is a great drop against mono-colored aggressive decks and even control decks that don't have much or any multi-colored removal. Some examples are mono-green elves, mono-green stompy, mono-black control (have to watch for sac-effects), and even mono-red burn.

But Guardian of the Guildpact seems obstructively slow for that purpose. For example, elves almost always goes wide by turn 3, sure, you have an indestructible blocker, but they would have already taken over the board to an extent where you wouldn't be able to respond on turn 4. Stompy in pauper as well likes to go wide, and most decks run Vault Skirge as opposed to a grounded creature to get past cards like Guardian of the Guildpact in the two drop spot, meaning you can't even kill their turn-two play. Burn is almost exclusively looking to get damage in in the first couple turns with creatures, and then they just go around you with bolts. Some might not run creatures at all and just go to face.

holy crap this is weird. SO when I first got into MTG I played with cards my buddy had, never getting my own. When I decided to buy my first deck I found a guy on craigslist who would make one for me. I watned a white black cause I wanted to be edgy and have a deck that what I thought would be like 'but wait, black and white don't work together'. So I met him a grocery parking lot, paid him probably too much and he gave me basically this deck. I have no idea where it is now, my exgirlfriend probably has it, but wow... this is cool to look at

Well that's cool that you have a connection to this deck! I've heard a lot of people who have fond stories of their experiences with some of these cards played together.
And in regards to the Guardian of the Guildpact I went -2 of those and +1 Duress, +1 Holy Light. I see your point and agree mostly with it! The Duress helps control/combo matches; the Holy Light helps some of the aggro/swarm matchups.
Lemme know what you think! I always appreciate feedback!

Dead Weight in place of Disfigure? Or maybe half and half. I know Disfigure is an instant but with Dead Weight, if they don't have any haste, then it's good cause the affects of that last longer. They're different, so just a thought.

I definitely appreciate that suggestion, and that's a good point! I lean heavily towards the upside of instant speed, but that would be worth some playtesting for sure!

I appreciate the suggestion! I've actually tried out Gift of Orzhova in a Modern version, and it's quite underwhelming. Almost all (if not all) of the creatures already practically have either flying or lifelink, so to give it the other one and +1/+1 for 3 mana is not great value. Compare this to Edge of the Divinity; that aura is such great value for one mana that it is worth the risk of getting two-for-oned with creature removal.

Amazing deck, this is my pauper extort deck
http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/23-03-17-pauper-orzhov-extort
also I would probably remove 2 Beckon Apparition and add 2 more Unmake because of the amazing value you get off of it.

It feels like Electrickery beats everything haha. Just gotta play around it or use the Guardian of the Guildpact in the SB.
And Defiant Strike is a cool card and all, but I'm not sure it would reasonably hold a spot in the 60. Perhaps in a 'Heroic' style deck it would be great, but in this deck it's either to get and extra point of damage or to cantrip. It also doesn't trigger Nightsky Mimic because it isn't black and white. Thanks for the suggestion though!
