Orzhov Vampire Aggro-Control

Standard WB (Orzhov)

BerkDerper

Sideboard

I started out netdecking a really great base deck from SBM that was fresh during Ixalan. I have since been tweaking it to fit my fancy, and to how others are playing. Since the recent bans, my opposition has been gravitating toward some aggro elements, but alas I have been here all along (since starting standard play ~4 months ago). This deck has gone thru iterations with tokens and anointed procession, and is now a powerhouse without the tokens, and instead depends heavily on removal and some card draw. Rivals of Ixalan created a much more synergistic deck that I am really enjoying. This is the current deck list that has done remarkably well against many of the standard decks happening currently. Mono red remains a difficult opponent, as are Approach decks.

The turn 1 and 2 plays are all solid plays. Vicious Conquistador, Fragmentize, Fatal Push, Gifted Aetherborn, Legion lieutenant, Bishop Soldier, Metalic Mimic. Turn 3 sets up the future of the game; draw cards and potentially get some life drain with Sword-point Diplomacy, or establish the exile-in-a-bottle Profane Procession for near future cherry-picking of just about any creature on the battlefield that *could grant you creatures belonging to your opponent. It can be and is a show stopper for most opponents. Energy players for instance play some of the more powerful cards in the game, and the moment they hit the battlefield, its gone. This card wins games. Turn 4 carries in Sanctum Seeker, which always has a way of making opponents utter involuntary verbal responses. If profane Procession wins games, Sanctum Seeker is the mechanism. Playing it turn 4 with 3 creatures out, and playing another creature the next turn, gg. Also in turn 4 are vraskas contempt, and Ixalans Binding because, ya know. Life gain by your opponent is usually a challenge, and the only 5 cmc card in the deck is Bishop of the Bloodstained. If the above scenario doesn't finish off your opponent, casting a Bishop will likely be the kill shot.

I have a LOT of fun with this deck. When I draw a card i don't ever feel like 'I wish I'd gotten another'.
