Honestly, the vigilance has been pretty important due to the deck having a fair amount of first and double strikers.. vigilance has helped keep those goblin decks at bay. Dragon Hunter was included to deal with all the dragons currently in the meta, but I will consider moving it to the sideboard.

Tbh take dragon hunter out of main defs, I've found in my experience four big dragons are played standard and 2 of which it useless against (storm breath and Dragonlord atarka) and even then it's a blocker I would rather run removal in its place or something I had high hopes for it and it just fell short

You've seen it once, I've updated it. And is a less expensive version of yours

A Mardu Shadowspear is an awesome 1 drop, and it is a good top deck dash late game when combined with Brutal Hordechief

have you considered running red for burn and Crackling Doom? that card alone is worth splashing red for, but if you splash you also have access to Wild Slash and Mardu Charm and Outpost Siege

If I were you maybe for side board you should add 2 radiant purge. It really helps with annoying enchantment and has a similar effect with erase but now that bfz came out its very affective against 2 colored creatures. Thats all. Otherwise really good deck. I like it a lot.

Since its modern, I would really consider Mogis Marauder, it was an invaluable card for me.

I considered Mogis's Marauder but since its not a warrior it didn't synergize well with the rest of the deck.

Have you considered Oblivion Ring in place over the Pacifism? It hits so many more things, great budget removal.
Cheers,Gameover

Im kind of a new player, started with the Khans of Tarkir conquering blades event deck. I think your deck is a nice upgrade inspiration. Why do you consider its not that good for competitive modern?

Just a friendly tip: All your cards should be the same art, even your lands. If an opponent looks at your hand and you have a pacifism in there, but on your turn you draw a pacifism with a different art and play it, your opponent is going to know you have another pacifism in your hand... Pacifism is just an example here, but it can be done with any card, especially foils, which is why I think foils are a waste unless youre going to get a whole playset of them.Anyways, just wanted to give you a tip that you might find helpful, since I see all the different printings you included. Also, if you don't list all the different printings, it makes your deck list easier to go through for all of us. Have a good one!

I know it's a retired standard deck, but I think there are some decent budget options in modern that you could upgrade the deck with (don't get me started on modern manabases though ugh).
For warriors, there are a few decent options in BW colors. Gatekeeper of Malakir is a removal option. Hero of Precinct One makes soldier tokens instead of warriors unfortunately but it could be built around in a build with more multicolored spells. Korlash, Heir to Blackblade is one of my all-time favorite black cards but would require you to build a more expensive manabase. Resplendent Marshal is an interesting lord. Solemn Recruit can get big.
For hand control, if you want discard I think it's worth swapping out Duress for 4x Inquisition of Kozilek (around $3 each). Honestly, I don't think discard is needed in this deck since it's more aggressive and less of a midrange deck.
For removal, there are definitely better options. Fatal Push isn't that expensive, and neither is Path to Exile. Vindicate and Vanishing Verse are some higher costed removal choices.

Er, sorry - the Herald of Dromoka - how often have you needed one more life point versus needing vigilance?
